Big Tree Catering

I *haaaate* to leave a bad review but, here we go :I bought a ticket to a Big Tree x local chef collab event. Full transparency, I was a later seating; I honestly expected some of the specialty items to be sold out and I would have been fine with that. When I arrived, I was told that they were doing an inventory and that many things were sold out and asked to wait while they got their bearings. I was seated ~ twenty minutes past my reservation and they were still unable to specify what was available on the menu. Eventually, I was informed that not a single entree item was available. Now, the reason this is two stars versus one is that the staff was incredibly kind and transparent - this was clearly a bad situation they were dealing with in the best possible way. I was comp’d a drink and I declined to try any appetizers in light of the unavailable entrees, but both the host and the bartender were doing all they could in light of the circumstances. For a *catering * company to be unable to estimate appropriate inventory for an event they had an exact headcount for, that feels like a very bad sign. I will be unlikely to attend future events and I would not recommend them to others.
