Biltmore Estate

Beautiful grounds. I didn’t realize it was such a big property. I didn’t not buy a ticket for the house as I can’t justify $80 a ticket to just go in a house to look. Seems a little steep to me. It was hard for me to justify $60 just to see the grounds. The village to walk through and spend more money. Seems a little off to me but I wanted to see what it was about. The grounds were beautiful. I am a bird watcher so I enjoyed the bird life as this place was FULL! They have well maintained and beautiful trails and a nice drive with pull offs. So if you want to spend the money to do this there is a lot to see.

This was my first time visiting the Biltmore and it did not disappoint! I've always gone to the Asheville area to hike, but its was so nice to visit this time and learn so much history about Asheville, the Vanderbilts, the architectural endeavor that that estate is, etc. I loved the self-guided audio tour, and the ability to learn more if you wanted in certain rooms, or by asking questions of the staff. It was simply breathtaking and awe-inspiring - each and every little detail on the floor, ceiling, windows, woodwork, furniture, etc. The outside was probably my favorite part, though. I loved the beautiful views, and the amazing gardens! The gardens and conservatory were beautiful! I wish we had more time to explore the winery and other facilities on the property, but I'm so thankful we got to enjoy what we did.

This place is stunning! Simply stunning! The architecture is exceptional and detailed, down to the simplest of items. We did a walking tour through the house. It took at least a couple hours, so wear comfortable shoes. If you’re not into architecture or history, this isn’t the tour for you. Otherwise, it was not boring at all. I strongly recommend the other tours they she’s available, like the Backstairs and Rooftop tours. It really gives a whole different dimension of understanding as to how this massive home was kept running. They really did think of everything, when building Biltmore. It was the ‘smart home’ of its day. And that is not to mention the 8,000 acres of beautiful forest, fields, and farms surrounding this jaw-dropping home. Wherever you stand, the views of Biltmore are stunning.

This estate needs an entire week if not more to soak it all in. So much more than just the house. The house is incredible, but there is also a creamery, winery, farm animals, more history, hotel, shops, restaurants, and gorgeous scenery! It’s truly inspiring to see how much thought went into this property and the work it has taken to preserve its beauty. It’s a masterpiece!

A birthday gift from my kids. We stayed in an rbnb which had a beautiful mountain view. We did the self guided tour. The place is amazingly breathtaking with beautiful architecture, awesome furnishings and wonderful history. It's a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes. The weather was in the 70s so it was perfect. Absolutely a must.
