Spectacular for brunch We’ve eaten at Escondido multiple times, it has always been outstanding. Today, 6 of us ate brunch, which was equally impressive. The menu is a bit different for Brunch, and I highly recommend many of the times we tried. I had the Chilaquiles with mole; this may be the best version of Chilaquiles I’ve ever had. I really love the mole chef makes here; the tortilla chips are homemade, which makes a huge difference in the dish. One in our party raved over the Breakfast Vegetarian Mole Enchiladas and the Eggs Benny. My wife had the Tempura Fish Tacos, which I tried and agree were outstanding. Great service too. We arrived on a Saturday when they open, 11 AM, and by the time we left, around 12:30, the place was packed. Go early and make reservations for Brunch (Saturday and Sunday only, 11 am-3pm).

Always a great time at Escondido, love coming back. The flavors never miss, every dish is creative and you can really tell Chef Fernando puts his touch into everything. The vibe is just as good, relaxed, stylish, and perfect to just enjoy your meal. One of my favorite spots in Santa Fe, and their happy hour is a must! Definitely coming back with friends and family.

I saw this place recommended in a magazine of attractions in New Mexico and was excited for their chicken mole enchiladas. My boyfriend ordered the flautas, and it was a huge dish. My dish came with a bunch of sides I did not want to eat, so he got extra food. The enchiladas were good but the food seemed to have been precooked or preprepared because it came out very fast. I do not think we waited more than 15 minutes. Sauce was excellent, and the salsas were amazing. We found out later that each dish of salsa was $3 extra and this was not relayed to us. I think the food could have been better, tortillas seemed a bit lukewarm. All in all it was a pretty good meal except these details.

This place is amazing, we ordered fish tacos tempura and mole enchiladas we also ordered starters one was fried calamari and it was perfect not oily at all and crunchy at the same time our drinks were delicious the wife ordered a maracuya and albahaca margarita and I had a shot of mezcal. Our server Ligia was very friendly and had a great smile she speaks English and Spanish perfectly. Congratulations to chef Fernando Ruiz from Sonora Mexico, we will comeback and try different dishes for sure.

We were in Sanat Fe for a trip and decided to give Escondido a try. It was our 35 anniversary dinner and we wanted to do something a little nicer. We stayed in downtown SF and the restaurant is a bit outside of town but not very far. We started with the Ahi Tuna Crudo and a cup of the Saffron Corn Bisque. Both were very flavorful and the Ahi Tuna Crudo was full of flavor with very fresh tuna. I ordered the Chile En Nogada, which sems to be their signature dish. The chili was large and not overly spicy with the filling of ground pork & veal not having a ton of flavor but very good. My wife had the Vegetarian Mole Enchiladas, again very full of flavor and the mole sauce wath awesome. We added an order of Black Garlic Mashed Potatoes because they sounded so interesting, they did not disappoint. We finished with the Tres Leches Churro Bread Pudding which was very interesting and amazing flavor. The only reason I didn't give them 4 stars is becuse we flet very rushed. The waiter was back at our table before were even done with our appetizers. While the waiter seemed like a nice guy he also seemed like he just wanted to get our order and get us on our way.
