I wish I could give a 4.5/5 star review as that is more accurate to my feelings about Forage Market. While we were there, we got 2 bagels, one as a breakfast sandwich and one as a bagel with cream cheese, and two coffees. The coffee was good, an above average cup of coffee. The bagels themselves were fantastic; they were fresh and soft and still warm, and the flavors were great! My one big complaint was I got the vegetarian bacon on my breakfast sandwich and it was one of the worst things I've ever had. I dont know if I got a bad batch, or something was wrong, or if it is just not good. It almost tasted burnt, and it was super dry and crispy, but the second I took a bite it got super mushy and disintegrated in my mouth into the worst papery texture I've ever felt. As thankful as I am that they had vegetarian protein options, this one was a major miss for me. I would definitely come back for a regular egg and cheese though!
good bagel, exceptional toppings. i liked the vibe in here. not too many bagel options but they have the necessary ones. salmon was yummy.
Bagels with good chew, good flavor, and good cream cheeses. The everything bagel seasoning includes fennel seeds which is a nice variation from the typical flavor. Coffee is solid for pairing with your meal but not the best we had in town. The space is a fun, lively, industrial open floor plan with plenty of solo, small, and shared table spaces.
I went here with my gf on our visit to Portland. She picked it out because of the reviews and photos that are excellent. We both liked the food but the hype might have created a little bubble for us. Great food but the bagel didn't exactly make me think I was back in queens. Restaurant is very clean, love the smell of the fresh baking, staff is very friendly.
My first visit and it was a great experience. The freshness of the bagels, great customer service, and the overall atmosphere were all exceptional. I had an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese, it was amazing. I am looking forward to being a repeat customer. It was also very cool watching them make the bagels while I waited for my order.
