Gary's Catering

Gary's catered the food. Three staffers working our event. All friendly, wearing their catering gear. The basil cream chicken was, beef Marsala wasn't my thing, pasta Alfredo was ok, rosemary potato was quite mashed soft, although wholly intact, the honey glazed carrots were not prominent or flavorful and Caesar was blah, quite a bit of rotten romaine lettuce in my two plates of salad. Caesar salad was covered in shredded Parmesan, grabbed some lettuce from the bottom. Gary's catered the food. The basil cream chicken wasn't bad. The beef Marsala wasn't my thing at all. The pasta Alfredo was just ok, mushy, creamy as expected. The rosemary potato was quite mashed and soft, although wholly intact. The honey glazed carrots were not prominent or flavorful to me. My husband‘s extended family mentioned that we would’ve been nice to have some salmon and maybe an actual pieces of steak instead of sliced beef. The Caesar was so blah, quite a bit of rotten romaine lettuce in my two plates of salad though. :/ The staff were attentive putting the food our and cleaning off of discarded plates.

Just had the Brunch buffet for a wedding. First, the staff from Gary’s did an excellent job of managing the catering service at the hall. Pretty standard fare that you would typically expect for brunch but the quality was absolutely terrible. Absolutely zero love and effort into the food. Just thaw, heat and serve. The eggs had a mealy texture and no flavor or seasoning at all. The biscuits and gravy which were a significant per person up charge were soup kitchen quality with what appeared to be frozen biscuits and packaged or canned flavorless white cream gravy with little bits of sausage thrown in. The bacon and sausage links separately were very good as were the potatoes. French toast was also not very appetizing or flavorful. Thankfully, restaurant grade syrup hides that. Desserts were thaw and serve factory cake, brownies and cookies. Bagels were also a huge disappointment considering there are a dozen really great bagel shops in this area of Oakland County. These were just bread circles, not bagels. We simply expected more from Gary’s considering they came recommended by the hall with reasonable reviews. I get it, it was breakfast but the lack of effort and the “buy and serve” were painfully obvious. A quick trip to Gordon Food Service and you can find everything we were served. With at least one more catered event coming this year and one next year, we are exploring other options.

Roach coach comes to our shop for break. The girl doing the route now is great. I don’t buy anything but I am sitting here listening to her talk to the people and she has great customer service and is upbeat and happy. She should get a raise.

We partnered with Gary’s for our daughter’s graduation party and the food and service were both outstanding! Service was above and beyond, they were an entirely positive part of our gathering and it was so appreciated! Thanks again!

Gary’s catered my wedding on 6/13 and wow so many compliments of how amazing the food was and the staff that worked our wedding were so incredibly nice as the bride I didn’t even have to make or carry my own plate because they didn’t want me to ruin my dress. Bartenders were so kind and I couldn’t be happier with that team. Thanks for making our wedding so awesome!
