Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel

WiFi was absolutely horrible. I couldn’t get any work done with it. I had to hot spot from my phone. I couldn’t connect my iPad to the hotel WiFi at all. No Netflix or any apps easily available on the TV’s. Lots of construction on the roads around the hotel made it difficult to get to. Especially with one way streets. Valet parking workers were fast/efficient. Beds were comfortable and clean. The A/C system was nice and quiet. Also, No microwave?!?!? No iron? Room had a clothes steamer, not a fan. Couldn’t get my button down nice and crispy. Pool was nice and warm. Pool attendant was nice.

We had an amazing time at the hotel pool! Renting a cabana made the day so relaxing, and we had such a wonderful experience. A special thank you to John, who took great care of us throughout the day. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. His exceptional service truly made our visit even more enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back!

Stunning Hotel, Frustrating Pool Bar Experience. This is a genuinely beautiful hotel. Historic, atmospheric, and well-run from the moment you walk in. The smell, the aesthetic, the vibe at check-in: all of it sets the tone for what should be a perfect stay. And honestly, most of it was. The one thing that significantly detracted from our experience was the pool bar setup, and I can't in good conscience not mention it. The pool bar operates completely separately from the hotel, you cannot charge anything to your room. Fine, inconvenient, but manageable. Except there's more: you also can't keep a tab open at the bar itself. That means every single drink or food order requires you to get out of the pool, dry off, walk up to the bar, and pay individually. As a woman in a swimsuit (not to mention I had children with me), this is not just inconvenient; it's genuinely off-putting and absolutely killed our appetite for ordering. We ended up skipping rounds we would have otherwise enjoyed because neither of us wanted five separate transactions on our card. I believe they used to have poolside service where a waiter came around, that would have solved everything. I don't know why that changed, but it's a real step backward in hospitality. To make matters worse, I'm a Diamond member and received a $20 drink voucher as a perk...which couldn't be used at the pool bar. So the one benefit I had as a loyal member was useless in the one place I wanted to use it most. So instead I used it at the Orlean's Room and thought I could just walk it into the pool area...WRONG! They said drink it or dump it "no outside food or drink allowed." OUTSIDE???? I literally just purchased it from YOUR onsite restaurant with the voucher your front desk just handed me, like what the heck!? The hotel itself absolutely deserves five stars. But until they fix the pool bar situation, I can't give it a full rating. This is an easy fix, Kimpton — bring back poolside service and integrate the transactions. Your guests will thank you.

The Cottonwood Hotel is our favorite hotel in Nebraska! We have been coming here for years, since the hotel reopened! Allie the Front Desk Manager always makes my Mom and I feel so welcomed! Ashley is the sweetest in the coffee shop and so genuinely kind! Emma & Kerry at the front desk are so thoughtful! Lance and Tai in the New Orleans restaurant give the best service! John & Austin at the pool are the best! Ty in housekeeping is very nice!

Beautiful hotel, great restaurant & staff. Here’s what could be better:: 1). The guest rooms are DARK!! Trying to work at the desk isn’t great because lighting is so low and not enough lamps in the room. (Bathroom lighting is good) 2). Beds could use new mattresses. And having a pillar literally at the foot of the bed is a weird place to put a structural pillar. 3). Overall , beautiful hotel and good experience.
