Kimpton Taconic Hotel

Loved the concept of this hotel. The decor, atmosphere and amenities are all very nice, and the property itself is beautiful. The rooms are a bit small, but we didn’t mind since we weren’t in them very much. The biggest area for improvement was the service. While almost everyone we encountered was polite, the overall level of service did not quite match the price point or the five-star reputation of the hotel. Greg at Copper Grouse was wonderful and provided some of the best service we experienced during our stay. There was also a woman running the social cart on 6/13 who was incredibly friendly and fun, though unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the hotel has a lot going for it. I just felt the service experience was inconsistent and lacked some of the attentiveness and hospitality I would typically expect from a hotel in this category.

Such a lovely stay held to the Kimpton standard. Staff were great and a nod to Jerry, who was exceptionally pleasant to work with as the front desk staff. The restaurant was always busy and with food reason, the food was great. Staff were busy , but in top of their craft. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We recently stayed at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester, VT and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. First of all — if you’re traveling with your pup, this is the place to be. They are truly dog-friendly, not just “dogs allowed.” Gotham felt completely spoiled and welcomed the entire stay, which made it so relaxing for us too. The atmosphere is cozy, charming, and perfectly Vermont. From the beautiful décor to the fireplaces and inviting common spaces, it has that warm boutique feel that makes you instantly settle in. We also loved the nightly wine social hour — such a fun touch and a great way to unwind after a day out exploring. What really made the stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Every single person was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. A special shoutout to Jaydoura, who checked in with us daily to make sure we had everything we needed. That level of attentiveness and care truly stood out. We can’t wait to come back — this will absolutely be our go-to spot whenever we’re in Manchester! 🐾🍷🏞

I had a great stay at the Kimpton Taconic. My family and I stayed here during a ski trip at Stratton, and the hotel is about 30 minutes from the mountain. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Although the rooms are a bit old, the nice warm and comforting feeling of the hotel makes up for it. They also offer drinks and snacks throughout the day. Breakfast doesn't open till 8, so it is not the best option if you are going skiing. Overall, my stay at the Taconic was a nice and comforting experience.

I had a great stay at this hotel! After being in the car for 4 hours and driving through the mountains into Vermont, we were greeted by this absolutely charming hotel! It had a real wood burning fireplace, which is rarely seen in a hotel nowadays, and the front desk staff were great. We went up to our room and this room was such a comfortable room, having a great view of the snow covered mountains. We also had a great experience at the restaurant for breakfast, the food was amazing and the waitress that served us was great as well. We are actually coming back to this hotel again February as we had an AMAZING experience, however we never got to see Manchester, so I am heavily looking forward to my travels back to this absolute gem.
