Mission Point Resort

Great stay at Mission Point. We stayed with our dog in the Straits Lodge, and it’s one of the few resorts on Mackinac Island that is genuinely dog friendly. The property is beautiful, the staff were incredibly friendly and personable, and there are plenty of amenities and food options. The huge lawns were great for walking and playing with our dog, and the views were amazing. My only criticism is that the dog-friendly rooms felt like a somewhat downgraded experience despite costing more. They should be just as updated as the rest of the resort. I also wasn’t a fan of the portable AC, although it worked very well. The best option on the island if you’re traveling with a dog.

We stayed here for a mini honeymoon and had an incredible experience! This was my first time staying on the island and mission point had everything we needed. The special welcome on the board behind the check in was a super sweet touch and Shaquera was so generous to us during check in. Bike rentals on site was a huge perk and our luggage was moved to and from the ferry very efficiently. Even on the rainy evening, we were so content lounging on the main floor and playing games. Great service and food all across the resort restaurants. We were here during the yacht race/awards ceremony and it did not feel like it took away from our experience at all. It was absolutely worth the investment and I cannot wait to come back.

We had our first trip to Mackinac Island last weekend and stayed at Mission Point Resort. It was absolutely amazing! When we got to the ferry they took our bags and we didn't have to worry about them because they go straight to the hotel, and once you check in the bell staff take them to your room. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and gave us detailed information about the resort, which was great because knowing the hours to the pizza shop turned out to be a satisfying way to end our day. The lobby is gorgeous and the resort grounds are beautiful. The room was cozy, cute, and comfortable. The resort spa was top notch with amazing customer service. Like I mentioned, we ordered pizza to take back to our room just before closing and it was delicious and the perfect late night snack for our family. The employees went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The resort was less than a 15 minute walk from the ferry down the cute main street of the island, or they offered to take us there by horse & carriage. Great resort! Great island for a getaway!

Tamika at the front desk of Mission Point Resort went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. From the moment we arrived, she provided outstanding service with a warm, welcoming attitude. She offered thoughtful restaurant recommendations around the island and she made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Her attention to detail, local knowledge, and genuine kindness truly stood out. Employees like Tamika make all the difference, and she is a wonderful representation of the hospitality at Mission Point Resort. Thank you for making our visit so memorable!

We would like to thank management for addressing our review. They were accommodating and switched our room. We were placed in another room that met our expectations. The new room was spacious, clean and with a window air conditioner unit that was quiet plus did not take up room space. I understand the resort had extremely limited availability. Yet they did make sure to address our needs by that evening. So I would like to update my review. We love visiting the island yearly. This is our first and last time staying at Mission Point Resort. It is a resort price for the quality of a Motel 6. Our room was unbelievably small, extremely outdated, a portable air conditioning unit that took up the limited space, bathtub was disgusting, denim looking curtain that was dusty- covered the tiny closet, room was too far from the main office and had to order a taxi to go anywhere due to being too far out of the main area of town.
