North Park Lounge - McCandless

We were stuck at the UPMC Passavant McCandless ER late one evening when the hospital cafeteria was already closed—no options there! Desperate for something quick and decent, I ordered takeout from NPL (the closest reliable option nearby), and wow, I’m so glad I did. The food came fast—super efficient service even during what must have been a busy time. I got the chicken tenders, and they were huge pieces—perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and absolutely delicious. The side salad was another pleasant surprise; it was generously portioned (way bigger than your typical “side” salad) and fresh. Best of all, the price was very reasonable—great value, especially when you’re in a pinch at the hospital. If you’re ever near UPMC Passavant and need solid, satisfying takeout, I highly recommend this place. It turned a stressful night into a much better one with good food done right. Definitely 5 stars!

Went there today for a late lunch. Was able to be seated immediately. We had the fried zucchini appetizer which was very good and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich which I thoroughly enjoyed along with the homemade chips. The homemade chips were delicious. I enjoyed them with a side of ranch. Our waitress was lovely.

My husband and I traveled to Pittsburgh for a meeting. Our accountant suggested eating at North Park Lounge. I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing. I've been to many restaurants, but North Park Lounge has the absolute best chicken. Everything was delicious. And the waitress had a great attitude as well. My husband and I will definitely stop by for a bite next time we're in McCandless.

Great lunch here. Had a new sandwich that was fabulous. Salmon BLT. Main dining area gets a little too noisy for me to hear well. Atrium dining was perfect. Good food, fast service, friendly waitress, no problem for sitting and talking for 1-1/2 hours. Loved it. And plenty of parking.

I’m posting this to let anyone know before they come here that this establishment charges you 3.5% extra anytime you use a credit or debit card. When my mother and I decided to meet for lunch here yesterday I was confused when the amount on the merchant copy of the receipt where you sign was more than the amount on the original check we were given. When I asked about this I was told their policy is to charge people who come in to give them their business an extra 3.5% to cover what should be their cost of doing business. I find this practice to be classless, cheap and a total trash act. So if you decide to do a family get together or a birthday here and your party of 12-13 people racks up a $500 tab, be sure to pay in cash to avoid being penalized an extra $20 by the owners simply for giving them your business. It’s very rare to see this given that almost everyone pays with a debit or credit card these days but the owners of NPL feel firm in the belief that their electronic fees should be covered solely by their patrons. It’s a bad business practice. No other way to put it. That’ll be the last of my money they get.
