I am not a fan of having my photo taken, so I was naturally a bit dreading the wedding photography part of the day. Matt completely changed that. He made the entire experience comfortable, natural, and shockingly fun—to the point where our photo session actually became one of the highlights of the entire evening. We had the absolute best experience with Matt Roberts from Rewind Photography for our Santa Barbara courthouse wedding. From the very beginning, Matt was incredibly detailed, thoughtful, and prepared. His website alone provided so much helpful information about the Santa Barbara courthouse wedding process and answered questions I had not even thought to ask yet. Once we booked, Matt continued to go above and beyond. He helped us create a clear timeline for the day, explained where to meet, planned photo locations around the courthouse, gave practical tips about the Hall of Records/security process, and even helped us think through how to include our children and family in the photos in a way that still allowed us to have intimate moments as a couple. His communication before the wedding made everything feel organized and calm. On the wedding day, Matt was amazing. He knew exactly where to go, how to guide us, and how to keep the day flowing without making it feel staged or stressful. He helped us stay in the moment instead of worrying about “being the moment.” He was professional, warm, creative, and incredibly generous with his time. He even built in extra flexibility to make sure we got the moments and pictures that mattered most to us. After the wedding, his communication was just as thoughtful. He explained the editing process clearly and sent us beautiful preview photos within just a few days. The previews already captured the feeling, flow, and joy of the day so perfectly that we are even more excited to see the final gallery. Matt’s knowledge of the Santa Barbara courthouse is outstanding, not only from a photographer’s perspective, but also from a bride and groom’s perspective. As a bride who isn't in front of a camera a lot, I was really happy that Matt was offering so much advice and hands-on support with posing, helping my husband and I look natural, confident, and cool -- and the pictures are honestly perfection!

Wow, I cannot say enough good things about working with Matt! We got married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse this past fall and the whole day was truly a dream. Not only did Matt take incredible photos and offer us great direction, he also incorporated special moments throughout the day for ourselves and our guests that really allowed us to be fully present with each other and appreciate the beauty of the day (and our marriage!). He is an incredibly warm and calming presence and really made us and our guests feel so comfortable. I would gladly work with him again and again! He knew all the best photo spots and captured us amongst the gorgeous architecture and gardens. The photos are so unbelievably organic and natural, and he captured a wide variety of candid and posed. However, even within posed photos, nothing ever felt stiff or awkward (even for my husband who is not typically comfortable in front of the camera).
