Roys Barn and Lodge

We LOVED our wedding at Roys Barn and Lodge! My husband and I were looking for a lot of specifics in our wedding venue: it needed to be close to Bozeman, have a mountain view for the ceremony, and an indoor option in case of poor weather, and bonus if it had on site lodging for my husband's family, could be used the whole weekend, and did not require a licensed bartender. Roys Barn and Lodge checked all of the boxes, so we booked it almost two years in advance, sight unseen (we were living outside of Montana at the time). From that day forward, Nancy was so helpful and responsive with all our planning, and answered all our questions (some probably multiple times). On the day, everything went better than we could have imagined and the venue was absolutely gorgeous - almost entirely due to the high standard that Dan and Nancy maintain. They were so incredible the entire weekend, from checking into the lodge, to helping vendors set up, to directing parking, and then helping us pack everything up the following day. I cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed the venue and especially enjoyed working with the Roys. Just like any venue there were rules and timing that needed to be followed, but Nancy was incredibly clear about everything and helped out whenever she could. Love, love, loved this venue! We had our wedding here in September of 2024. We had the ABSOLUTELY most amazing and beautiful wedding day. All of our vendors had a wonderful experience working here and with Nancy and Dan specifically. They went above and beyond in so many ways to make the day special, and were very flexible to make the day as stress-free for us as possible. The venue itself is so gorgeous, and working with Nancy makes the whole process as seamless as possible. We booked the lodge which made everything so wonderful and convenient. I'll also be honest that I went into wedding planning completely ruling out "Barns" as a venue, as the country wedding vibe wasn't what I was going for. However, the barn itself is gorgeous, and it doesn't feel industrial at all like some venue barns can. The grounds are incredibly beautiful and cared for, and we ended up feeling like it fit our vibe perfectly. I can't recommend Roy's Barn enough.

From the moment we toured Roys Barn, we knew it was the one! What truly set this venue apart was their willingness to allow full creativity—we had a vision for our big day, and they not only embraced it but helped bring it to life in ways we never imagined. Dan and Nancys willingness to communicate throughout the entire process was flawless. Especially since we were planning this wedding from Arizona! The stress of planning a wedding in a different state, was at times overwhelming, but I always knew I could pick up the phone to call/text or email Nancy and have a response right away! What I loved most is how intelligent and knowledgeable Nancy and Dan are about every detail of their venue. Nancy was essentially our wedding planner at one point, as she assisted in a timeline based on how much sunlight we would have for our ceremony at certain times of the day, what had worked best based on prior weddings, and what might not have worked. Dan and Nancy always provided suggestions, never once pushed a decision and always assisted us in fulfilling our vision! The Roys were genuinely excited to help us create the wedding of our dreams, they worked with us every step of the way to ensure every detail was perfect. And the venue itself? STUNNING. Every inch of the space was picture-perfect, from the breathtaking ceremony area to the beautifully designed reception space. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how gorgeous everything was and the natural beauty of the venue. It was a true Montana experience!! Most importantly, our wedding day was absolutely magical. The Roys went above and beyond to make sure everything flowed seamlessly from the MOMENT we arrived, and we were able to fully enjoy every moment without a single worry. ALSO the beautiful on-site lodge was an absolute dream. Having a dedicated space for the bridal party to get ready the morning of the wedding made everything so relaxed and special. The cozy yet luxurious atmosphere allowed us to enjoy the morning together, take beautiful pre-ceremony photos, and soak in the excitement before walking down the aisle. I HIGHLY recommend including the beautiful wood lodge! If you’re looking for a venue that offers complete creative freedom, top-tier communication, and an unforgettable wedding experience, look no further than Roys Barn. We wish we could relive the day over and over again! 💍✨ 1000% recommend!

If you are looking for a venue, Roy’s Barn and Lodge is the one for you. Nancy and Dan are the kindest people I’ve ever met. With all the chaos of looking for venues and vendors, I genuinely felt like they cared about MY wedding, and that it wasn’t “just another wedding”. The best part was that we had 4 hours to set up Friday, all day Saturday, and until noon on Sunday to get everything packed up. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. A few days before our wedding there was a terrible wind storm, and when we got there Friday, Nancy and Dan were outside picking up all the leaves and twigs than had been blown around to make sure the venue was perfect for us. There aren’t enough words to express how magical this venue is, and how large it is! And the Lodge is the perfect place to get ready for your big day. Can’t recommend Roy’s Barn and Lodge enough. I could go on forever about how amazing Roys Barn is and how incredible Dan and Nancy are. First off, the property is absolutely gorgeous and it is the closest venue in that area to the mountains (it’s literally at the base of them) so you get an unadulterated view of them (the yellow barn and the red barn in this area have blocked views of the mountains. Who wants that?). One of the many things I love about this place is that it has a history. It wasn’t built to be a wedding venue. It wasn’t built to turn and burn and make a profit. No, it was a functioning family farm passed down throughout the generations, and of course, Nancy is part of that family (and Nancy can tell you the best stories about it). I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding at Roys Barn and when I got engaged I knew exactly where I wanted to get married. My husband and I didn’t contact any other venues and we booked Roys Barn and it was the best decision we ever made. Now onto Nancy. Nancy was born to own and operate a wedding venue. She answered any question I had and I appreciated how all of her answers were based on previous experiences (as opposed to a money making answer that I know you would find in this valley). I didn’t know much about planning a wedding at the time and Nancy was SO HELPFUL. She knows everything about the property - down to how many bags of ice fit in the chest freezer so you don’t run out and where the shade will be at a certain time so you don’t overheat. Something I will remember forever is that just before I walked down the aisle I looked to my left and there were Dan and Nancy, taking pictures of this moment on their phones. It was such a sweet, pure moment and I just adore them in every sense of the word. We also rented the BEAUTIFUL log cabin next door and that was a really fun place to spend the night before the wedding with my bridal party. I could keep going but now you need to run to this venue for your wedding!
