Spitfire Bar & Grill

Spitfire is usually pretty busy but we went before 5 PM and parking was decent and the restaurant wasn’t too crowded. They have different seating options including outdoor seating which is nice. We ordered pork ribeye, walleye, shrimp, chicken tortilla soup and fries. Everything was really good! The pork ribeye was a little salty and over-seasoned for my taste, but it was still delicious. The walleye and shrimp were great, the chicken tortilla soup was delicious and the fries were on point! One of the coolest things was being able to see the chicken grilling over the open flame. It was really neat to watch and added to the experience. I also really liked the ambience and our servers were pleasant and friendly. They have clean restrooms and an ATM as well. One thing I noticed is that the entrance doors aren’t automatic and you have to push them open, so I’m not sure how accessible the entrance would be for someone using a wheelchair. Overall, we had a really good experience and would definitely come back. Great food, cool atmosphere and friendly service!

For the first time here upon a recommendation of friends not impressed and let me explain. We ordered our food server was polite and friendly. Brought my ice tea no ice sent back for more ice, she returned with smile. I ordered the Texas Brisket, nothing like Texas BBQ I have ate in San Antonio. I realize it is smoke and I did eat half of sandwich I just had a difficult time of getting past the blackened charcoal burn. It was so dry and asked for sauce on side tasted like all vinegar was told brisket sauce never have I ever had something so sour to be called brisket sauce. I was told after the fact our brisket is dry. When I ordered It asked how is the meat was told good of course would say that, had she said it is good, but traditionally it's on the dry side I would have ordered pulled pork. I am used to brisket with some fat gap on for some moisture, not a black burnt charcoal tasting piece of meat. When I got to the bottom of sandwich there was a piece of meat that looked like a charcoal briquette and it was all charcoal there was no meat it's evident the cooks our not trained to QC 'Quality check' what they are serving. Simple question if you wouldn't eat this sandwich, why would you serve it. The saving grace was the mashed potatoes and gravy. My friends shared a chicken quesadilla, they said hot and moist chicken with right amount of ingredients. Was really expecting more due to high expectations I will chalk up to a hopefully one time bad experience. Can't speak to cleanliness of ladies restroom men's could use some TLC built up dirt in corners of floor as well floor looks like never seen a good mopping. Immaculate restrooms says alot about cleanliness of restaurant.

Went there my wife birthday while we were in Fargo. Spitfire appetizer platter was really good. She had the wild rice soup for one of her sides and it was outstanding. Her steak was cooked perfectly. I had a half rack of St Louis ribs with KC BBQ sauce. Ribs were very tender and very delicious. Since it was her birthday, they offered a free desert and she chose the key lime pie. From the time we walked until we walked out, everything was perfect.

Raspberry glazed ribs were off the charts. And I don’t know if I’ve ever been to a restaurant where the smell in the bathroom made me hungry!! 🤣 I think they must route wood-fire smoke into the bathrooms! And the lunch price menu is a real value bargain.

We had an outstanding experience at Spitfire Bar & Grill! The service was absolutely excellent — friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. I ordered the 10 oz Spitfire Sirloin with a side of loaded mashed potatoes, and it was incredible. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. The loaded mashed potatoes were the perfect complement — creamy, savory, and generously topped. Every bite was delicious! Highly recommend for both the amazing food and top-notch service. We will definitely be back!
