As a Johns Island native, I've always loved this venue! This was one of the first venues I fell in love with! I've been shooting and planning weddings here for over ten years and it's one of my favorites because of the stunning view! Depending on the weather, it's always a different vibe!

We got married on November 22, 2025 at The Island House, and we are so happy we chose it as our venue. Nestled right on the Stono River, it is truly a hidden gem. My husband and I are Charleston natives, and I had never even heard of this venue before we started touring, but it ended up being absolutely perfect for us. After booking, we even discovered a special connection: my husband’s father had ties to the family that runs the property, which made choosing The Island House feel even more meaningful. Katie Mahon was instrumental in helping us plan our wedding at The Island House. She patiently answered our endless emails and questions and made sure her team was fully prepared and on top of every detail on the wedding day—and they absolutely were. Everything was executed flawlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy the day without worry. The venue was especially beautiful in the fall, and we couldn’t imagine a better place to have celebrated our wedding. We are beyond grateful to The Island House and its team for making our day so special.

The island house is such a special venue. We loved having our ceremony on the waterfront and the reception in their tent. The house is beautiful with ample space for both the guys and girls to get ready. We loved having a space and kitchen to store food and drinks while getting ready. It is a beautiful venue with gorgeous views. We loved the atmosphere and low country charm. The staff is great to work with as well, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue.

Absolutely beautiful wedding venue! We loved how it is right on the water - we had a huge rainstorm that cleared up an hour before the ceremony and then gave way to the most beautiful sunset on the water I have ever seen. Some guests even saw 2 dolphins in the river before the ceremony! We had a lot of out of town guests so they were blown away! We loved how there was areas for both the men and the women to get ready in, and the house décor is awesome! There was plenty of space for all the girls to get ready in with the bridal suite, hair and makeup room, kitchen, and living room all upstairs, and the groomsmen and groom loved having the bar setup downstairs. There are so many beautiful options for areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. We opted for having the ceremony under the gorgeous oak tree followed by cocktail hour by the water. The tent was fabulous for the reception, and served for a great rain plan. The tent is huge and accommodated all the tables, chairs, dance floor, photobooth, cake table, etc. Julia, the venue coordinator, was excellent and helped with all of our venue needs. I highly recommend The Island House for your wedding venue!
