Our second time at Amara. First time with our daughter. Much better room this time. I definitely recommend a second floor room. However, the promised red rocks views from our room can only be seen by leaning over the terrace railing. You can't beat the location. Amara is on the main strip in Sedona. It's down a long, pitched driveway so you feel like you're secluded. The walk up the driveway to the main strip can be strenuous for some. There's a choice between valet and self parking. Self is $10/night. I didn't realize there was a charge for self parking until I checked out. It's ok. I think $10 is fair. The infinity pool and hot tub were great. The pool is heated, but could have been slightly warmer. Being a vegan family, we didn't bother with Amara's restaurant. There was enough restaurants with vegan options nearby. My wife got a massage at the spa and she loved it. If we return to Sedona, we're definitely staying at the Amara. Edit: I also love that the pool is open late. So many hotels have limited pool hours. Just be careful walking around at night as the lighting is very low.

We had a great stay at Amara and would definitely come back. The infinity-edge pool is absolutely beautiful and one of the best parts of the property. We loved spending time by the creek behind the resort—it was such a peaceful setting and made the resort feel really unique. Our room was comfortable, and we really enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. The Southwest chicken salad we had when we arrived was fresh and delicious. Overall, it’s a beautiful property in a great location, and we had a wonderful weekend.

Lovely place to stay and relax at with close access to Oak Creek and the shops above. Rooms have lots of noises throughout the night from the AC system and neighbors sink/toilet. Ask for an inner room facing the pool or courtyard. SaltRock restaurant was really nice. Breakfast was incredible. Menu had lots of great choices. Our server Sebastian was amazing. Missed dinner here but looks like it was nice as well. All the staff was very nice.

We had a wonderful stay at The Amara Resort and Spa for a college reunion weekend! The location is fantastic—close to downtown with beautiful views of the red rocks, especially the iconic Snoopy Rock formation. The courtyard layout creates a nice communal feel, and we loved spending our evenings there. A few things worth knowing: The valet service was excellent, and the lobby offers complimentary water during the day and coffee in the morning. The grounds are lovely, and if you're interested in exploring the town area, they offer golf cart rides up the hill. However, there are some accessibility considerations. If you're staying in the back buildings, there are no internal stairs or elevators—you'll need to walk to the front building or use exterior stairs and navigate through grassy areas to reach the courtyard. Between buildings, there are also stairs with no ramps, so if you have mobility concerns or lots of luggage, it can be challenging. I'd recommend requesting a ground floor room if this is a concern. We weren't able to snag dinner reservations (the restaurant is popular!), but we made the most of the courtyard behind the restaurant. The two fire pits and open grassy seating area were perfect for enjoying the evening under the stars—honestly, that turned out to be one of the best parts of our stay. Overall, The Amara Resort and Spa is a great choice if you're looking for a cozy, well-located spot with character and a relaxed vibe. Just go in with realistic expectations about the layout and plan accordingly.

The grounds are nice but it's not easy to get around I was on the second floor so there were lots of stairs even if you take the elevator. The charging port by the bed did not work. The first time I used the shower the water would not turn off so I had to call me maintenance. He did not speak English but I was able to watch him It took him several tries to get the water to shut off. The next day when I took a shower I could not get water to come out of the overhead shower only the handheld. Also the water is very hard which made for a bad hair day. I would expect a hotel of this caliber to have soft water. I think the most frustrating part was the lights are on timers so every time I took a shower or use the bathroom the lights would turn off and I would be in the dark unless I could wave my arms around close enough. My refrigerator was also not working. They sent a housekeeper instead of maintenance initially she did not speak English and I tried to explain to her that the refrigerator was not cold. Finally I went downstairs and let them know the refrigerator was not working and had several items that needed to be refrigerated. They were great and maintenance replaced the refrigerator. The staff could not have been more helpful and professional. I just expected more considering how much they charge for a room!
