We had a beautiful Anniversary weekend at Camp Lucy! Impeccable service, with breakfast and dinner both days at Tillies restaurant. My only star to take away was in the room. We stayed in 411. There were tiny black spiders that came out at night in the bathroom. Not just a few but 5 or 6 everytime I got up, which was often... which leads to my chief complaint: The bed!!! It was not good at all. I own multiple bnb locations and anyone who is in this business knows, the beds are equal to cleanliness when hosting. The king mattress only had 2 slats for support, so my husband and I rolled to the center all night (he weighs 170 and I weigh about 130)... The waterproof mattress pad was right under the bottom sheet (which was not fitted and wadded up under us.) It was hard and flat!!!! Sort of what you would find in a nursing home bed. This caused us to feel sticky and sweaty. It needs a thicker mattress protector between the pad and bottom sheet for sufficient air and comfort! These complaints were told to the front check in hosts. They sent someone to add a few slats under the mattress but they did not fix the mattress pad situation. The Folklore Spa was top notch. We loved both of our therapist for a massage service. We will go back again because we had a great time at this venue and all around Dripping Springs. I hope someone reads this and fixes the bed making protocol. It really is important! I mean this in the nicest way, because these people were amazing~

I came to Camp Lucy after six weeks of nonstop travel expecting a nice getaway. What I got was the most thoughtful hospitality experience I’ve had in all my travels. Chris Guse and his team do an excellent job curating an unforgettable getaway. Every detail matters here, from the beautifully designed cottage we stayed in, to the Folklore spa, to Tilly’s restaurant. You feel immersed in nature on this property in a way that feels genuinely special. Tamika’s exceptional massage, Chef Saroja’s warmth, and servers who made dinner feel effortless all contribute to a stay where you feel the intention behind their craft. The blanket of stars overhead is an otherworldly experience. I will absolutely be back.

During check-in there was a situation with our booking/the original rate booked. The front desk employee that we spoke with, Lena, immediately adopted a defensive attitude while we were trying to work out/understand the situation with our booking. She called her manager, Manny to “come deal with it”. Both she and Manny’s attitude did not reflect the type of customer service you would expect at a property of this caliber to uphold. A simple change in tone would have made the situation appear/feel neutral. Rather they both acted as if we were trying to “pull one over on them” which felt unnerving and gross. My friend and I brought up the lack of transparency in the booking situation and attempted to offer feedback on how things could be done in the future and clarified we weren’t trying to be compensated or anything of that nature for the misunderstanding. It was met with deadpan stares. I own a healthcare practice and my friend owns a small hotel. We both understand levels of customer service and levels of client/customer interactions - this was frankly confusing and unfortunate. The staff, care, and attention to detail at Folklore spa was delightful. Vincent at Tillie’s was such a joy. We would absolutely go back to Folklore even if it was just for the day. It was truly beautiful and redeemed the creative retreat we had allotted ourselves as small business owners.

What an incredible getaway! We stayed in a Vista Room and the views were absolutely breathtaking. The entire property feels peaceful, tranquil, and tucked away from the world. One of my favorite parts of the stay was hiking the trails and watching the sunset over the vineyard—truly magical. The grounds are beautifully maintained and full of unique experiences, including the adorable alpacas that added a fun and unexpected touch to our visit. Every moment felt relaxing and restorative. If you’re looking for a luxurious Hill Country escape, Camp Lucy is a 5/5 in every way.

Where do I even begin… We’re checking out today after spending a few days at Camp Lucy, and I wanted to write this before we even left because this place truly exceeded every expectation. It’s rare these days to find a place that not only meets your expectations but surpasses them at every turn. Camp Lucy did exactly that. The property is tucked away in the beautiful Texas Hill Country and is peaceful, stunning, and full of wildlife. We saw deer everywhere, and one of our favorite surprises was getting to feed the adorable alpacas. I came with my sister, who was celebrating her birthday, along with our mom for a girls’ getaway. I mentioned her birthday before we arrived, and throughout our stay so many employees took the time to wish her a happy birthday. It was such a thoughtful touch and made her feel incredibly special. We spent a LOT of time at the Folklore Spa, and every minute of it was wonderful. Ashley and Kylie and Monica at the spa were welcoming, helpful, and always made us feel at home. I had a massage with Cynthia and a facial with Katherine, and both were outstanding. If you’re considering booking spa services, do it—you won’t regret it. A special thank you to Erin, the spa bartender. My mom wanted a Dr Pepper, but the spa didn’t carry them. Erin walked all the way over to Tillie’s to get one for her. She absolutely didn’t have to, but that simple act perfectly represents the level of hospitality we experienced all week. We also took a Mahjong class with Haley, and it ended up being just my mom, my sister, me, and Haley. My mom had never played, and my sister and I had only played once. Haley was patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and so much fun. We left feeling confident enough to actually go home and play. Now… Chef Saroja, the chef at the Folklore Spa, deserves special recognition. One afternoon she stopped by the pool to check on us and ask what the birthday girl wanted for dessert. We mentioned that while our drinks were fine, we just weren’t crazy about the soda base. Without us asking, she returned with custom drinks she created along with several of her incredible house-made sorbets for us to try. While we were chatting, she mentioned an upcoming steak salad that sounded amazing. I told her I’d love to try it, then headed off for a spa treatment. After my facial, Ashley came to find me because Chef Saroja wanted to know if I still wanted the salad. I had no idea the kitchen had been closed for over an hour. She had specifically asked Ashley to find me after my treatment so she could still make it for me. That wasn’t customer service—that was genuine hospitality, and I’ll never forget it. We were also lucky enough to have Erdem as our server at Tillie’s both evenings. The first night he graciously handled all of our special requests, including arranging a smash-style burger for my mom. The second night we wanted to eat by the pool while playing Mahjong after poolside service had ended. Instead of making us come inside, Erdem came outside and took care of us anyway. He made us feel like it was never an inconvenience. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few names, and I hate that because every person we encountered—from the front desk to the hostesses at Tillie’s to everyone at the Folklore Spa—was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. Beautiful resorts are easy to find. Beautiful resorts filled with people who truly care are much harder to come by. Camp Lucy has mastered both. Thank you to everyone who made my sister’s birthday so incredibly special. We made memories we’ll never forget, and we can’t wait to come back.
