Carneros Resort and Spa

Beautiful property with great amenities. However, while the Staff are great, the property is severely understaffed which causes service to fall far short of five-star. We had several instances of waiting 30 minutes plus (at the pool, at breakfast, at dinner) to get a waiter's attention or just to get our check so we could get on with our day. Great potential, but needs investment. Shout out to Cole at Post - highly recommend the tastings with great service and amazing explanations of the wine and their producers.

This was a dream come true. We got engaged by the Hilltop fireplace and now our first stay for our 7th Anniversary. Very grateful for the superior service for this terrific team. Plus, my husband got his wish to get a ride in the Escalade IQ. • Adrian the first person to greet us and sunny Sammy at the front desk • Concierge Cris who is a ninja! • Estephanie, Lupita, and the entire Hilltop hospitality pros for our bountiful breakfasts & poolside moments. • Cole in the POST tasting room who was knowledgeable and helpful. • The caring Coop crew - the best snacks. • Teresa at FARM who was responsible for our exquisite feast and delightful dinner -- and of course Chef and kitchen! • Sebastian who showed us such hospitality and kindness and was a fast and safe driver. • Live music on the patio at sunset was a real treat.

We stayed at Carneros Resort and Spa to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff were attentive, friendly, and truly made our stay special. The front desk team acknowledged our anniversary and gave us helpful tips on enjoying the resort's amenities. We loved spending time poolside with our dog—there was plenty of space at the day beds, and the staff frequently checked in on both of us and our dog. We happened to visit during the summer when they host free Friday community events. The resort also offers guests the use of a Cadillac to explore local wineries. We spent most of our time relaxing on-property, but other guests loved having that option to get out and about. Clean, relaxing, and welcoming—we would definitely consider coming back!

My flight was canceled Wednesday night coming from NYC for a long holiday weekend with my wife. The entire time our flight kept getting delayed we’d communicate this with the staff at Carneros. Once our flight was completely canceled and the next one out was Friday we decided to cancel the trip. We called the hotel to let them know and they canceled the room. They said to call back in the morning to discuss options. We asked for a credit to come back in the future and to rebook our room given its Memorial Day weekend and Bottle rock. They declined to come up with any solution. I asked the manager what our room number was and if I could add my friends to come and check that our room was indeed available and that they didn’t pocket the money twice for one room. She said they would not be providing me with my room number and that I would NOT get a refund. I submitted a claim with better business bureau. I am entitled to know my hotel room number given that I’ve already been charged $4500. Was looking forward to a future stay. However, never considering this place again. I’d stay away and stay at the four seasons. Better customer support.

The grounds are beautiful. The landscaping is well kept and the whole property feels quiet and relaxing. Our room was cozy and comfortable, and the large back porch was a highlight. It was a great place to sit outside in the morning and enjoy your coffee by the fire pit. The biggest issue was the distance between things on the property. Our cottage was pretty far from both the pool, restaurant, and the spa. We called for a golf cart ride but ended up waiting so long that we finally just walked to Hilltop for breakfast. Breakfast itself was nice, but the options were limited unless you paid extra. Most of what was included was pastries, cereal, and fruit. If you want something warm or savory like eggs or bacon, you have to order and pay more. One thing that surprised me was the cleanliness detail in the bathroom. The soap by the sink had visible mold on it, so I couldn’t use it. Overall, the property is beautiful and peaceful, but the service and small details didn’t quite match the luxury expectations.
