Dunes West Golf Club

I could not recommend Dunes West for your wedding enough. We just got married there in May, 2026 and can not have enough good things to say about Jason, the staff, and the venue. Jason is extremely knowledgeable and helped us come up with a minute by minute plan of what the wedding would look like. Jason always had an answer for us and was very accommodating with special requests which helped everything go super smoothly and ensured we had exactly the wedding we wanted. Additionally, the venue is beautiful and our photos came out even better than we expected. There are so many beautiful locations around the venue and I think this is the perfect location for a Charleston wedding. Lastly, my wife loved the bridal suite and had the best time. We have nothing but positive things to say and I highly recommend considering Dunes West for your wedding. My wife and I said to each other all the time while planning how glad we were that we went with Dunes West and that we could not imagine getting married anywhere else!

We are so thankful for Jason and his staff for making our special day, the best day ever. We only heard about the food being amazing. Aside from my coordinators, Jason made sure everything was seamless. I wish we can do it all over again. Do your wedding at Dunes West!! You won't regret it!!

Where do I even start?! Jason Hanson and his team are truly incredible. My (now) husband and I had our wedding here one year ago, and we will never get over how perfect the day was. Our wedding fell during the week of a huge snowstorm in Charleston, which was definitely intimidating at first as we worried about what our day might turn into. I was hesitant about moving everything indoors, but Jason was the most flexible and reassuring venue manager. At the time, he had done nearly 1,200 weddings at Dunes West and had never hosted a ceremony in the location we ultimately chose (see attached photos). Just two days before the wedding, we adjusted our plans, and Jason and his crew were incredibly responsive and flexible—working with the weather and truly listening to what we envisioned for our ceremony. It was too muddy and wet to be under the cypress trees, but it was just warm enough to hold the ceremony off to the side of the building. We ended up creating an entirely new ceremony location, and it turned out to be absolutely beautiful. I was able to walk down the black staircase, hidden by the trees, and emerge from the side—it was magical, flowed perfectly, and felt so special. The entire crew was seamless all night, and our guests were beyond impressed. The biggest compliment we received was about the food—TRULY the best wedding food any of our guests (including us!) have ever had. One special request we had was to eat dinner by ourselves in the bridal suite. Jason made sure to set up the sweetest table for two and even came in to check on us, ensuring we had intentional time together to soak it all in and enjoy a great meal. We were blown away by the food, the service, and how everything was handled so seamlessly under one roof—chairs, tables, food, drinks, everything was taken care of. We still dream about our wedding day and how smooth, thoughtful, and special it all was. Jason Hanson and his team went above and beyond. I don't even think I have the words to describe how incredible of an experience we had with Jason and the staff at our wedding. I do not understand why anyone would choose not to get married here, it truly is a no brainer. The entire process was so seamless and easy that honestly I was stressed that I WASN'T stressed while planning! They do so much for set up and coordination that we didn't need a coordinator and still didn't even do that much on our own. The venue also cleaned up everything which was a GAME CHANGER and made it so easy to come back the next morning and pick everything up. They also gave us so much food at the end of the night that it fed us all week. (also the food was INCREDIBLE). Over a year ago while we were looking at several venues in the area, we were immediately blown away by the professionalism and competence Jason had. After meeting Jason, it was so obvious that this was the best venue by far and immediately decided to work with Dunes West. Then entire staff was so attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we were doing okay and had everything we needed, I cannot say enough about Jason and Pam. Our wedding day was a little rainy and Jason was so flexible with our wants and made sure we had the outdoor ceremony we had always wanted regardless of the rain. It was an absolute blast. If you are thinking about having your wedding here, just do it.

I loved photographing a wedding at The Dunes West in February of 2025! The venue was so beautiful! There was so much room for the wedding party to spread out between the outdoor patios and indoors. Although it was chilly in February there were space heaters provided for guests who ate dinner outside. I would love to work here again! -Carly T. Photography
