Goodstone Inn & Restaurant

The setting here is so gracious and authentic. It’s the opposite of a Salamander experience. We stayed in the Stallion Suite which had a gorgeous 4 poster bed and curated art. My only negative here is the food. The wine cellar is superb, but they have done away with the tasting menu and wine pairings which is a shame. We wanted a cheese and charcuterie board for hors d’oeuvres and they don’t offer that! We were truly taken aback. The scallops were a culinary mess, however the gazpacho was perfection. So, bottom line, the food is hit or miss. We will still return but really hope they bring back the fine cuisine, tasting menu, and cheese board, which every fine restaurant should offer.

Goodstone Inn & Restaurant was the most magical setting for our rehearsal dinner—made even more unforgettable by a historic winter storm. The Conservatory felt warm, intimate, and incredibly romantic against the snowy backdrop. The team handled every detail flawlessly despite the weather, ensuring our guests were comfortable and the evening flowed seamlessly. Exceptional service, stunning ambiance, and a truly special experience we’ll never forget. We did have a couple hiccups with the ADA ramp as well as our shuttle got stuck, but all things considered it was a beautiful affair!

We had an absolutely beautiful dining experience at the Bistro at the Goodstone Inn & Restaurant in Middleburg. The setting feels like stepping into the French countryside, quiet, refined, and romantic. The food matched the atmosphere perfectly. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, but the brie appetizer was truly to die for. Creamy, warm, perfectly balanced, it was one of those starters you immediately start planning to order again before you have even finished it. And the Steak Oscar, I can't even, it was so delicious. Our server, Saxon, was wonderful. She was attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made the entire evening feel relaxed and special. If you want elevated dining in a peaceful, elegant setting, this is it. We will absolutely be back.

I wasn’t here for the room but for a brunch. Unfortunately the reviews are consistent on one thing: timely manner of staff attending to their guests nonperiodically~ they tend to seat you and then vanish for goodness how long~ long enough where two people can have a long conversation and then you have nothing more to talk about and you’re looking around awkward. I made a reservation prior and we were the only ones there. Understanding if there might be new hostesses or new cooks taking a bit more time, we’d like to know so we may understand the slowness~ while right after you receive your food, they immediatly come by as if to make up for lost times and ask how the food is before you’ve even picked up your fork. The food was~ alright. I had the full course, I wish I can say it’s moms cooking or top tier, but…..it’s not worth the overpriced sales on everyday items on a menu…. Breadsticks would be great to cut boredom while waiting for anyone to show up, the floor below had what seemed like old leaves here and there? Odd. Extremely beautiful facility, just wish everything else matched. I will try again in a year as I always like to give places another try. Possibly it was just an off day. From the looks of the facility itself and rooms, that looks well worth the money, food and service: sorry.

Our experience at Goodstone Inn was truly unforgettable, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully put into words just how special this place is but I’ll try. My boyfriend planned a surprise proposal on the property for me. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff made us feel so welcomed, cared for, and genuinely celebrated. Every single person we encountered was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. What meant the most to me was how everyone on the property seemed to know about our proposal—throughout the weekend, staff members would congratulate us as we walked around, which made the whole experience feel so personal and intimate. The proposal itself felt so unique and thoughtfully executed, and the entire weekend had this warm, intimate atmosphere that you just can’t replicate anywhere else. You can tell how much care and intention goes into every detail at Goodstone. We stayed in the Bull Barn Cottage, and it was absolutely perfect(clean, quiet, cozy, and so charming). It felt like our own little private escape, and it made the weekend even more magical. When I woke up one morning I looked out of the window and saw a donkey and other farm animals grazing outside. A huge thank you to Katie and Kristin(and so many others!!!), who were both so wonderful throughout this entire experience. They were incredibly kind, organized, and communicative, especially in the months leading up to the proposal while coordinating with my (now fiancé!). Also the food, wow. Everything we had was delicious, but the steak au poivre was truly next-level. Goodstone Inn is more than just a place to stay, it’s a place that creates lasting memories. This weekend is something I will cherish forever, and Goodstone will always hold such a special place in my heart from now on. Thank you!
