Iron City

I wasn't sure what to expect from this venue, being from Atlanta. It was easily one of the best venues I've been to. From the security staff, to the bartenders, to the setup...it was absolutely outstanding! The sound is just so good. There's not a single bad spot to enjoy a show. We were standing in line for 20+ minutes before doors opened and it began raining. There was nowhere to hide from it, so we just figured we would deal with it. Then one of the security staff comes out and begins handing out umbrellas to us! Couldn't believe the kindness and hospitality being shown to us. You don't get that everywhere you go. We will make it a point to come back for more shows. Even the local police officer (Chief) was super friendly and very hospitable!

Iron City is hands down one of the best venues I’ve ever been to. I came to see Santigold and that concert is etched into my brain. The energy, the atmosphere, the sound… all unforgettable. Security was super helpful and made me feel safe from the moment I checked in. The bar staff was kind and patient, even when I had a few too many questions about the drink menu. They took their time, no rush, no attitude, just good vibes all around. The sound quality was phenomenal, and the visuals added a whole extra layer to the experience. I walked out absolutely buzzing with happiness. Iron City nailed it, and I can’t wait to go back!

I will never attend another event at Iron City Birmingham again. Its a great venue and I enjoyed the concert. I bought an $18. parking permit days in advance, put the address in my GPS and went straight to the lot. Came out and my car had been towed! Along with multiple others. I drove in from Blount County and was stranded on the street corner out of town. I had parked 1/4 block from where I should have. Costed me 160.00 when I finally got someone there for a ride. Be careful people, it is a scam! They will charge you to park and then take your car!

I attended the Molly Ringwald's show last night June 6th & first off the band was GREAT & overall the venue was good - but we had an issue that I can't seem to forget or get over thus my current review. I attended with my wife & 16 year old son. He enjoys music from the 1980's & we thought it would be a good family experience. For the most part it was - but our issue started upon entry & sadly kind of continued throughout the evening in a very creepy, stalkerish kind of way. When we walked into the venue a young woman approached my 16 year old son telling him he was very cute - he of course kind thought this was "cool", but my wife & I thought a bit differently as she was much older than him, worked for Iron City & this strange interaction continued multiple times throughout the evening. Let me explain further - we were hanging out at a high top table & she again approached our son right there in front of his parents. This time it was much more of a distraction as to why we were there. She stopped & asked his name, our families last name is Hardwood - she made a very sexual comment to our son in front of us about his last name, I will not repeat the comment or post it here, but it was absolutely unprofessional & offensive. My wife said lets move, so we left the area leaving her hanging enroute to the floor for the show. This sadly was not the end of rude attention & harassment. Later on during the show, my Son had to go to the bathroom, he went on his own, he is 16 you know & was gone longer than expected, upon returning to us he said that girl stopped me again & said she could get me a table for us upstairs for free. He also said she gave him her name & social media information. From that point we didn't let him go anywhere alone. You have to understand that she clearly was much older than our 16 year old son & her actions & comments were just very overly sexual & she did all of this in front of his parents & other show guests. What should have been a great family bonding concert experience turned into a watch my child so she doesn't do anything. We may be overly protective, but in this day & age you can never be too careful, but to have an employee do this to our son throughout the night made for a very uncomfortable experience to say the least. He said she told him her name was Maddie & she was in charge of box office & front doors & rentals of venue. She might have given him a fake name but either was we were able to confirm from the barstaff that she did in fact work for Iron City. We are sure nothing will come from this post, review but if nothing else we got this off our minds & have warned other families to be aware of such activity while attending shows at Iron City. Hopefully we are wrong & perhaps Iron City will address this disturbing interaction which tainted our entire evening. Thank You Mitch & Jennifer

I do wish there was dining available for the vip tables upstairs, but overall I've had a pleasant time attending the two shows I've seen there.
