Loggerhead Marinelife Center

I visited here in the early 1990s as a child when there was just a few tanks and it was really exciting to return as an adult. It was incredible to see how much growth there has been since that time. The facility is beautiful and you can tell the animals are very well cared for. The admission is free, but you should really consider making at least a small donation to support the great work that this organization does. I’m leaving four stars because the woman at the door this morning was quite rude, and seemed inconvenienced for me to be there. I initially felt very unwelcome and nearly left. Fortunately, one of the other volunteers noticed what was happening and came over to speak with me. Every other staff person and volunteer that I encountered was very polite, friendly and helpful so I am glad I decided to stay and check out all the turtles. They might consider putting a friendlier volunteer at the front door though.

We loved our visit to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. We had visited before and were impressed by the new additions and expanded facilities. The exhibits are informative, the rehabilitation tanks provide excellent views of the sea turtles, and watching the feedings was one of the highlights of our visit. We spoke with several volunteers, and every one of them was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and clearly highly motivated by the center’s mission. Their explanations made the visit even more interesting and helped us better understand the animals and the rehabilitation work being done. The center also has excellent visitor amenities. Tortuga Café offers indoor and outdoor seating, and we particularly recommend the Café Terrace, which overlooks the tanks and offers views of the Atlantic Ocean. The gift store is enormous for an institution of this kind, with an impressive selection of clothing, toys, artwork, souvenirs, and marine-themed gifts. The staff there were friendly and knowledgeable as well. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is doing outstanding work, especially considering that it does not charge admission. It is an educational, enjoyable, and inspiring place that is well worth visiting.

This place is totally amazing! There is no admission fee but they absolutely accept donations which will one hundred percent be used to save injured turtles. I am so glad these magnificent creatures have this place to care for them. The staff here are wonderful and the gift shop has lots of different items to choose from.

We have made many visits to Loggerhead Marinelife Center over the last 15 years and highly recommend it for families visiting the area on vacation. This nonprofit sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation center operates on a donation-based admission system, which makes it both affordable and meaningful to support. The center includes a small history and education area where you can learn about the organization’s mission and conservation efforts. The highlight is definitely seeing the rescued sea turtles recovering in the outdoor rehabilitation pools. It is both educational and inspiring for kids and adults alike. They also offer additional tours and interactive programs for an extra fee, which looked like great options for anyone wanting a more in-depth experience. Overall, this is a fun, educational, and worthwhile stop for families looking for something unique and memorable to do in the area.

Pleasantly welcomed by two older women that seemed to love their jobs. This is a fun thing to do with the family or as a couple outing to witness humans doing good things for animals. It is donation based only which is nice for all budgets and levels of giving back. Additionally, it was a very hot day and a good portion of the experience was outside, so bring your hats and fans. The concession stand sold popsicles, which was a perfect combat to the heat.
