Lonesome Dove Fort Worth

It was our first time at Lonesome Dove and this was one of our best dining experiences ever! The first course was mindblowing (I recommend the lobster hush puppies and the elk slider). The Texas Red Chili was great, but the steaks stole the show! Cooked to perfection, and melted in the mouth. The asparagus, mashed potatoes and truffle Mac and cheese on the side were perfect. And the homemade vanilla ice cream and ancho chile chocolate cake were also extremely delicious! The hospitality is what you would expect: Southern and warm. Our waiter, Jeremy, was the best and he made us feel at home! Everyone on staff was so kind and made this dinner unforgettable. We’ll be coming back!

Everything was superb! Our drinks were refreshing. The Kangaroo nachos were divine! The Lamb Chops were so tender and flavorful. My husband had the Tenderloin and raved about it the whole time! Highly recommend this for a special occasion. It was our anniversary and our waitress Jennifer made it so special.

We were excited to try this place -- eating at a celebrity chef's restaurant is something my husband & I really enjoy doing! Let me start by saying that the restaurant is beautiful & gives a uniquely "western" vibe; HOWEVER, it was so hot in the restaurant that I had to put my hair up because I was sweating -- AND I'M A TEXAS GAL. I am not a professional food reviewer by any means (although, that is my absolute dream job), so take this with as much weight as you wish. Based on mine & my husband's tastes... (1) the elk sliders were, flavor-wise & texturally, one-note ($28 for 2). (2) the chicken fried steak was good, but nothing special (definitely not worth the $49 price tag). (3) the garlic-stuffed beef tenderloin was... irritating. There was 1 semi-softened garlic clove in the 9oz medallion. It was tender & juicy, but it was over-charred, which made it quite unpleasing to the palate. It was sitting atop a bed of "plaid hash" that tasted burned as well, further adding to the, unfortunately, one-note burned taste of the entire dish ($79). Our server, Laura, was wonderful. She was very attentive & was kind enough to bring me a cup of icecream with a birthday candle in it for my birthday celebration. So, thank you, Laura! Other than our great server, I've got to sadly report that we were not overly impressed with our visit to Lonesome Dove. We expected more from a restsurant owned & operated by a celebrity chef. P.S. When you leave, watch out for that step! It's a doozie!

Came here with a group of 8 on a Friday night. Definitely recommend getting a reservation. Connor was a very good server. Lots of really cool and unique food options. Got the chef's platter for appetizer and enjoyed some rattlesnake, kangaroo, lobster, and wild boar ribs. The steak is amazing. I got mine medium well, and it was perfect. Not too hard or dry. Best steak I have ever had. Fries and Mac and cheese were great. Very good with dealing with food allergies. I am allergic to dairy, gluten, and peanut, and I had no issues at all. They specially prepared 3 appetizers for me to try. Very impressed with their accommodations with that. Cool atmosphere, kind of dark, rustic vibes.

Amazing restaurant with wonderful atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. We tried the bison, incredibly juicy and flavorful. Also loved the rabbit sausage and the blue corn lobster hushpuppies. Everything was very tasty and beautifully prepared. Definitely a memorable dining experience and a great place to enjoy unique Texas cuisine
