Ocean Course at Kiawah

I wanted to love this place so much but it just didn’t live up to expectations. Booked over a year in advance. Stayed in the cottages right next to the Pro Shop. That was really nice to be able to walk outside to the range and clubhouse. Most of the guys in the Pro Shop are extremely rude and condescending. Young kids working the phone and answering questions acting so annoyed by any question. Except Mike. Mike was great. He handles the cottages. Most of the people that vacation to this area think they are way more important than they are so not a ton of friendly people in general. Just a ton of typical Southern frat boy type families that all dress the same. Care more about being cool than being kind. We had some great experiences with really nice southern hospitality when we got outside the resort. More down to Earth type people. The golf course is good, not sure it’s great. Probably tough to give it a fair rating with the amount of mosquitos. Literally went home with hundreds of mosquito bites. They need to spray, fog and do a better job of mosquito abatement. The Ocean course is tough as advertised. Played twice from the Silver tees and thought we should try it once from the tips w afternoon wind. Extremely difficult from the tips but a good experience. Actually very playable and score-able from silver tees. We also played Osprey & Cougar while in town. They are both great courses. Not sure I ever need to come back. Too many other better golf destinations.

As pure as it gets. Was blessed enough to go out and play all 5 of the courses on the property a few weeks back, and I can see why this course is ranked as high as it is. From tee to green the course was immaculate, with perfect weather this was a once in a life time type round. Wide fairways with challenging greens this is a must play for any golf lover. 10/10!

Amazing course, beautiful views, and the most wonderful experience with our caddies — Braedon and Brandon! They truly made the day that much more memorable and enjoyable. Thank you, gentlemen for making us feel right at home on the course — we can’t wait to come back!

I was just a little bit nervous to play this course, but my fears were put to rest as I was told that even a mid level player like me were welcome! (Thank you, Owen!) Wow! I am so glad that I didn’t let my doubt keep me from playing this course! It was absolutely gorgeous and the vistas were stunning! It’s hard to capture the beauty of this course! Our caddie, Mike, was so attentive and gave just the right amount of advice! What a day! I can’t wait to play it again sometime!

Played the ocean course yesterday afternoon. It is definitely worth the hype! I was linked up with the forecaddie, Skylar. He was awesome! Made the experience so much fun and helped navigate the course. He was a great hype boy! And so patient with my requests to take 192840103893 photos. I hope to play again :)
