Omni Charlottesville Hotel

My friend and I came in for a gals trip. We originally rented an Airbnb but due to cleanliness issues, had to find another place quickly and we were thrilled to find that Charlottesville has an Omni. We’ve stayed at quite a few and we know the name is mostly equated with excellence (not including Omni Bedford Springs—that place needs some serious work on literally everything including the building, cleanliness, updates, staff, and amenities…but I digress). It was clean, stunning, and has a very upscale, elevated, luxurious feel. It was so clean! The carpets, furniture, walls, rooms, bathrooms…all spaces were impeccably well-maintained. We travel a lot and it’s rare to find this much attention to detail. We loved our room and found it aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, although my friend did say she had a dip in the middle of her mattress, which caused discomfort in her joints. The restaurant and bar is GORGEOUS in the most beautiful atrium. Service was great and Ken made us delicious cocktails and was perfectly attentive. The hotel is just about connected to the historic and popular outdoor mall. Lots of shops and restaurants to keep you busy (yes, there is a homeless population but it was pretty sparse when we were there). We both enjoyed the breakfast buffet and thought the food was mostly delicious and well done (the bacon was paper thin, the scrambled eggs were from a container—not real eggs). Overall, this Omni did not disappoint, however, we did agree that a hotel of this caliber really should consider offering free coffee in the lobby and to make their delicious fruit-infused water and iced tea offerings in the lobby available earlier in the day (there is a window and it was never out earlier in the day when we really wanted it). Highly recommend and would stay again.

On a garden tour by bus, so this is our headquarters for the week. Very upscale & reasonably affordable hotel. Have eaten provided breakfast here and had drinks at the nice bar, but that is it. Mattress is very nice (most importantly, right?). But can’t say much else about the place, convenient to walking street mall, lots of restaurants in area.

The atrium is beautiful and the beds very comfortable. The WiFi is terrible though and they try to charge you and make you fill in plenty of forms. The location is perfect for restaurants and bars. The gym is small but well equipped, the outside pool wasn't open which was a shame but the indoor one and jacuzzi was okay, there were kids playing in it everyday.

The location is fabulous and the bartenders are amazing. My Husand and I were helped by a tall gentleman. However, the cleanliness is a problem. There were bugs everywhere in the lobby as well as ants outside my room. When I called the front desk about the bugs, the young lady hardly spoke English. There was this disgusting piece of food around the bar and no one seemed to notice. The floors were sticky where my heels were sticking. There was a dog that went poop in the lobby garden while we were eating. Our server was bringing us food and his hand touched the fries and when he was talking his spit got into my food. I asked for a manager and they could not be found but I noticed there was a gentleman in a suit talking. Another concern is the associate at the front desk that did not wear shoes. I find that to be very unprofessional considering this is a luxury hotel.
