Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

Easy to spend a few hours here admiring every area. The palm glasshouses are reopening in October after a 5 year restoration but even without those, there's still a lot to see all year round. Some great themed sculptures by reknowned artists are on display. Some very friendly moorhens too! There are plants for sale in the Botanics shop within and seeing as entry to the gardens is free, please buy some or leave them a donation!

A beautiful and well-maintained botanical garden with an impressive variety of trees, flowers and plants from around the world. Although the Glasshouse is currently closed, the gardens are still well worth a visit. A perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing walk away from the busy city.

Quiet spot for a leisurely walk with a faint view of the city. There are benches in case you want to rest and have some bite. Birds are around and they walk around you if you are willing to throw them a piece. We saw the beautiful junipers with blue-violet toned cones and sooo many beautiful Scottish flowers.

What a fantastic way to spend a few hours on a sunny day in Edinburgh away from the tourist hordes on a free visit to these gardens. Beautifully manicured and maintained throughout we spent 4 hours exploring except for the glass houses which are getting a revamp which gives an excuse to revisit when they reopen, cafes and toilets are spread throughout the area and it was a delight to see so much flowers in bloom especially all the different types of rhododendrons

After spending 2 weeks visiting all the cities, forests, towns, museums and more this was easily one of my favorite locations. I garden myself so this was an intricate experience in itself but the part that really got me was once in the garden it absorbed most if not ALL surrounding city noise. All i could here were birds, water and wind. Absolutely beautiful and serene experience to sit in my thoughts take it in see the wildlife plants and gardens. 10/10 recommend especially at golden hour. 👍
