Sandals Resorts Jamaica

We had the most phenomenal trip to Sandals Royal Caribbean. We resort was awesome. The view from our room amazing. All the staff was friendly, professional and genuine "really sincere people". The food was delicious. We went for our Thirty Year anniversiry and my wife being cancer free. If you need to refresh I would encourage you to plan a trip.

We visited this location while on a week stay at another resort. We wanted to check out the clothing optional beach the resort offered. The photos of the island look inticing, a nice stretch of beach to enjoy some adult fun in the sun. We paid $300 ish dollars for day passes and immediately took the short ferry ride to the island. Upon reaching the clothing optional side of the island, we realized there was no beach at all, simply a small patio next to the ocean with a few sets of chairs. The closeness of the arrangement and other couples made us uncomfortable and we felt advertising a “beach” was a misdirection by the resort. We immediately took a ferry back to the office and requested a refund based on the misunderstanding. What I thought would be a simple transaction turned into an ordeal that wasted even more time. We were told immediately that we would not be receiving a refund, despite me being reasonable and pointing to the picture of island that hung in the office, indicating that it was false advertising and not a beach. We asked for a manager. We sat in the office for an hour waiting for a manager to come talk to us. When we finally talked to the manager, she told us we could get a half refund. At this point we were upset at the way we had been treated and they clearly didn’t want to talk to us anymore after they had our money. I told her that this was a poor representation of the resort and of Jamaica. She eventually told us that we would receive a refund and we left the resort. We never did receive a refund. The people of Jamaica are great, but the corporations have captured about every inch of the beachfront. I would avoid this resort in particular, and for us, this was a big reason why we will never return to Jamaica.

My husband and I visited Sandals Royal Caribbean and the service was amazing. We initially was staying for four days and we ended up extending our time to 7 days. Our butler Ellis was amazing and always answered when we called, he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was magical. We enjoyed the excursions and the relaxed vibe. The lobster was amazing. The beachside dinner was so bomb. We will definitely return.

My wife and I have been talking and planning our 10 year anniversary trip to Sandals since we were on our 1 year anniversary trip. We planned our trip through my Mother who is also our travel agent. Trip was scheduled for the end of July. My wife was researching our trip and while we were preparing to purchase our airline tickets, she read where our resort had been closed down and would not reopen until sometime in December. My Mother did have to call in to verify (she was not notified). Very very disappointing. And of course this close to our date prices are much higher than what we were going to spend and no compensation was offered for being forced to switch resorts. Unfortunately had to cancel our trip and find something else. I would think in these circumstances when a customer tries to get a full return that would not be a problem either but we’re stuck losing our insurance too. If I could give lower than a 1 star I would.

I must say the staff at Sandals Royal Caribbean were exceptional and there was a very high staff to guest ratio. I was greeted by a cold wet flannel and a drink which was exactly what the doctor ordered. Please note I arrived at 11am and check in was for 3pm. They stored my luggage and was more than happy to assist me with settling in on the premises until my room was ready. The room was exquisite, the only downside was that the gentleman that took me to my room spoke so fast and could have taken time to explain things a little more as I felt lost on the first night there. Throughout the stay, staff members went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, special thank to all the staff in Cricketer's pub, you were all superb. My house keeper Terry-Ann was so lovely, thanks again. The highlight of my trip though was Patricia at front desk. I had a late flight back home and stayed on the premises until it was time to leave. I was told earlier my a team member that I could use that facilities at the gym to have a shower and get changed. Patricia, however gave me access to a room to have a shower and get changed. Now, that is what you call going above and beyond. Thank you so so much and I cannot wait to come again as this was an absolutely breathtakingly epic experience, PS the fire dance was incredible!
