The Foundry

What a wonderful staycation at the Old Foundry Hotel. I merely wanted a place to stay nearby an event I had in town as it was finishing late but this was even better than I had expected. Upon arrival, every staff member was attentive and kind. Carlos gladly assisted my luggage as my room was a little bit of a walk- he was also kind enough to walk me and show me where the “after hours” entrance was as I wanted to ensure the uber dropped me safely at the correct entrance after my event. Tafa was another incredible staff member who gave me a room tour and had such a beautiful energy about her. The staff all seemed to really take pride in their roles. Constantly being addressed by name by all the front desk staff was appreciated too. The location is very central if you’re a tourist wanted to explore the city. The suite I stayed in was a decent size for the city! It was extremely clean, had all of the amenities one would need. Breakfast included was excellent, I had the vegan bagel (I’m not vegan but it was like a leveled up avocado toast which is usually my go to) -it was really good! I would gladly return. PS- the whatsapp group with reception staff in was really helpful as you can request any information or something to be sent to the room and they are very quick to respond.

Wow what a surprise this was! The interior was fascinating and invites you to look into all the nooks and crannies. An industrial look that really complements the vibe of the place, or the vibe of the place complements the industrial look! Emily at reception was extremely helpful and I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I felt that welcomed. The room was great and the bed super comfortable. Service at the bar was also superb and breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The only negatives were the very loud church meeting on the Sunday morning down at the bar/small restaurant but it was avoidable by sitting outside (which we did) and the night reception was almost the opposite of Emily, sullen and not very forthcoming, but I guess we all have bad days. If you enjoy going places that are different then I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff are awesome and the smiles are always on. They are so helpful. The rooms aren't traditional hotel rooms ...they have a distinct personality in each room which makes it awesome

Very disappointed with our experience. We had been very much looking forward to staying at the Old Foundry Hotel and had heard many positive things about it, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, due to safety concerns related to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, we were unable to travel and had no choice but to cancel our stay. This situation was completely outside of our control and not a standard cancellation. What made this particularly frustrating was the lack of empathy shown by the hotel. Navigating travel disruptions during a war-related situation is already stressful enough without the additional difficulty of dealing with a company that appears unwilling to consider individual circumstances. A little understanding would have gone a long way. Communication was also very poor. We attempted to contact the hotel for over a week and struggled to receive a response, which left us in a very uncertain position. It was disappointing to wait so long for a reply, only to be told that nothing could be done. What makes this even more disappointing is that other hotels we had booked with - despite having similar non-refundable policies - reviewed the situation and were able to offer refunds or vouchers due to the exceptional circumstances. We understand that businesses have policies and need to protect their revenue, but in this case our need to cancel was entirely out of our control. Sadly, this experience has left a very negative impression. Based on the lack of flexibility and empathy shown, it is unlikely that we would consider booking with this hotel in the future or recommend it to others.

We had a stay booked that we were really looking forward to, but due to safety concerns connected to the current conflict in the Middle East, we were unable to travel and had no choice but to cancel. These were clearly exceptional circumstances and completely outside of our control. What made the situation particularly frustrating was the difficulty in getting any communication from the hotel. We spent over a week trying to make contact and received no response for quite some time. When we finally heard back, the response was simply that nothing could be done. Of course we understand that businesses have cancellation policies, but a little compassion and flexibility during unusual circumstances would have been appreciated. Other hotels we had reservations with - even with non-refundable bookings - were willing to review the situation and provide either refunds or vouchers, which showed a much more customer-focused approach. This experience left us feeling very disappointed. It’s unfortunate because we had been excited about the stay, but based on how this situation was handled we would be reluctant to book again.
