The Merle Hay Event Center

Great. Except parking. 😆 Walmart and target will deliver no issues. Breakfast was good. Wings were 💯! Pizza (not flatbread) tasted like it had been frozen since 1999. Kid ate it. It was better at midnight than at 4pm. Can’t have it all! Worth it to pay more to stay where your event is.

Awesome place to see all kinds of outdoor stuff 😀 👌

Was there for a two day conference. Staff kept it clean. Food was served buffet style and aways hot and full! They cleared the dining room as soon as done eating. Never saw a dirty table. Staff did a wonderful job!

I was just dropped off by an Uber in Lot 4, and within minutes, a parking attendant—who had been sitting in a car and wasn’t visible to us—drove over as we were getting out and began yelling at us because the lot was full. We calmly explained that we were only being dropped off and hadn’t seen him or any signage indicating the lot was full. Instead of de-escalating, he became even more aggressive, accused us of lying, and insisted we had made eye contact with him (which wasn’t possible, as we were in the back seat of an SUV). The entire interaction was unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional. If the lot is full, there should be clear signage or attendants actively directing traffic—not hiding in a car and then yelling at people after the fact. This experience left a very negative impression.

Des Moines Comic Con was great, very crowded. Lots of artwork. Excellent Home & Garden Show. Lots of vendors, way better than horrible event at the fair grounds. All kinds of free promotional stuff to take home as well. PBR Event is always entertaining and one of the events that I always attend every year.
