The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island

Our family had an incredible stay at the Sanctuary Hotel! The beautiful property is amazing, but what truly made our trip unforgettable was the staff. From the moment we arrived, Mark made us feel genuinely welcome. Odvar, our bellman, was incredibly helpful getting our luggage to the room and even shared great local recommendations. Bella at the front desk was so accommodating and made every interaction a pleasure. The housekeeping staff also did an outstanding job and were always friendly, smiling, and took real pride in their work. As a business owner, I pay close attention to customer service, and it's refreshing to see a team where everyone takes ownership of their role with respect, professionalism, and pride. That culture is evident throughout the entire hotel. Thank you to everyone at the Sanctuary Hotel for helping create such wonderful family memories. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful grounds, lobbies and accommodations. Staff are top-notch. Concierge handle things efficiently and quickly. Jasmine Porch and Ocean Grill are very good! Club level is a good value. Housekeeping is superb! Two suggestions: increase Club Level prices by $1000 and give an increase in food quality. There needs to be a bump up in exclusivity. Disney World does Club Level very well…copy that. Fix the coffee problem stat! Early risers have no coffee option until 6:00 am, and even then it’s a little carafe in Jasmine Porch. Place decanters in the lobby, like any budget hotel has, so folks catching early planes or who start the day early can enjoy their coffee.

To think I almost didn’t book due to some of the bad reviews… This was one of the best resort experiences I’ve ever had. Some reviews say the place is dated but I completely disagree. This is such a beautiful property. They have to be spending at least $2 million per year on landscaping. The service was fantastic everywhere I went. They were very helpful with arranging external activities like kayaking and providing shuttle services to and from everything on the island. Just a breathtaking experience.

PARADISE!!! We’ve been coming down to the South Carolina coast for over 20 years. A friend told us about Kiawah so we started coming to the Sanctuary about 3 years ago. It is truly heaven on earth!!!! The staff is incredible the food is superb and there aren’t words adequate enough to describe the beauty of the surroundings. We call it “our happy place”.

We have been coming to The Sanctuary since 2010. When we first started visiting, it was just my husband and me. Today, we arrive with our three kids in tow, and The Sanctuary has continued to be a place we look forward to returning to year after year. The property is as beautiful as ever, and the rooms have been impeccably maintained. But what truly sets The Sanctuary apart is its genuine Southern hospitality. If you're fortunate enough to meet Mr. Chris, you're in for a treat. Every year, he welcomes us with the same warmth and kindness. This visit, he knelt down to introduce himself to each of our children, asked them their names, and took a genuine interest in getting to know them. It's those heartfelt moments that make this place so special. Thank you, Mr. Chris, for making The Sanctuary feel like home every time we visit.
