One of the amazing places that is both a massive piece of history and also a vital part of the current culture. The gallery is a beautiful space with a variety of different art shows through the year. The second floor feels like it has been preserved from the late 1800's. It is well worth the trip.
I took a sketching class here and had a grand ol’ time. It was nothing like what I would have expected and felt like I was surrounded by some prestigious people in the city. 10\10…. Highly recommend
The Scarab Club hosted a free concert on Sunday as part of the Concert of Colors. It was a lovely tribute to techno and house music. The drinks were very affordable and we could visit the floors above and even chat to some artists - residents of the place on the top floor.
I have been going to the scarab club for thirty years. Hands down one of Detroit's best Galleries. If scared club is not only a gallery, There are artists who have studios here. When you become a member you get all kinds of perks, Such as free parking, And a reduction in price when Applying for open artist calls calls. The scarab club has been an operation close to a hundred years. What I really like imagining is being there the day that diego rivera signed the wooden beam On the second floor. That bean has many many great artists signatures. From local artist as well as international artist. When you are a member you can also participate Is live model sketch classes. Highly recommend if you're coming Into the city from outtatown , make sure and stop at the Is scarab club. If you are a local person And have not been here yet. I highly recommend that You do
Catered a wedding at the Scarab Club. Such a cute and intimate space, various rooms, historic, simple, artful. Not sure on their total capacity but 60 seemed to be a good number. Beautiful patio that would make for a great spring and summer ceremony. Becky the Event Manager was great. Located across from DIA just a great area - Chef Suzy Chive Catering & Events
