The Simpson House Inn

We first stayed at Simpson House Inn almost 16 years ago, and over all those years we never forgot this beautiful, peaceful place. When we planned another trip to Santa Barbara this year, there was no question where we wanted to stay—we booked three nights at Simpson House Inn again. I can honestly say our experience was even better than the first time. From the moment we arrived, Olivia gave us such a warm welcome, and Frank immediately took care of our luggage and escorted us to our lovely Garden Room. One of the highlights of our stay was enjoying breakfast each morning in our private garden, surrounded by the relaxing sounds of the fountain and singing birds. It was the perfect way to start the day. Everyone we encountered—from the front office staff to housekeeping—was genuinely kind, professional, and welcoming. The attention to detail and the peaceful atmosphere make this place truly special. We highly recommend Simpson House Inn and can’t wait to return again!

This was our first stay at the Simpson house and not our last. We live in San Dimas and we frequently go to the Santa Barbara region for dinner. It so wonderful to find a place that is magical. The hospitality is wonderful. We were greeted by Olivia. We stayed in one of the cottages The living area downstairs and the bedroom was upstairs. The cottages are quaint, the wood floors are awesome. The cottage reminds me of home as I too have wood floors and stairs. Frank assisted us with our luggage but anything else we needed. This place is accommodating The breakfast we had delivered to our room Fresh flowers, table cloth, eggs, bacon potatoes, fruit, homemade pastry. It was delicious The best part as well my husband just loves this as well. We've struggled the past few years and we have been driving home which can make for a long day. Thank you Simpson house

My husband and I have stayed at Simpson House Inn every year for many years. It is a truly magical place. We love the old-world charm—the unique furnishings, the books in each room, and the feeling of being transported to another time and place. Part of what has always made Simpson House Inn exceptional is that we felt genuinely cared for. The thoughtful treats upon arrival and the evening happy hour made our stay feel effortless and relaxing. The unique breakfasts set the inn apart from other luxury properties. This year, however, we were disappointed to learn that happy hour had been discontinued, there were no treats or cards upon arrival and the breakfast menu was less unique. Happy hour, especially, was one of the things that made Simpson House Inn feel so special. It provided a wonderful opportunity to mingle with other guests and to personally thank the staff for creating such a lovely experience. We felt like guests at an old home as opposed to customers. My hope is that the new owners preserve the character and traditions that have made Simpson House Inn so beloved. Its charm lies not in modern furnishings or trendy updates, but in its history, personality, and hospitality. Nearby luxury hotels are wonderul, and you feel like a customer. Simpson House was memorable because we felt like guests.

While on a day trip to Santa Barbara this past weekend we stopped by at the Simpson House hoping to have evening tea. We did not make a reservation and we went after the tea hours. We were greeted by Haley Boots who was so warm and welcoming. We were really impressed with her hospitality. She offered us scones and let us explore the place. Thank you Haley for showing us what true hospitality means.

This is the second time I've stayed at this magical place. This time, it was my fifteen year old daughter for a girls getaway. It was quaint and beautiful and perfect. Frank made sure it was a special time for us and it was. The property, the gardens, the rooms, the food. 10/10! Can't wait to go back!
