Windwood Equestrian

Windwood Equestrian is such a magical venue just outside of Birmingham. It's hard to believe you're only a short drive from downtown once you arrive. I've had the opportunity to photograph both an intimate elopement and a styled shoot here, and each visit has reminded me just how beautiful the property is. From open fields to tree-lined paths and charming details throughout the grounds, there are endless locations for portraits. As a photographer, it's truly a dream venue to work at. If you're looking for a peaceful setting with gorgeous scenery and so much variety for your wedding photos, Windwood Equestrian is an incredible choice.

We got married at the Windwood, and it was perfect! Lyndsey was amazing as our day-of coordinator, and when talking with the photographers about how well she executed everything, they let me know it isn't always smooth sailing working with other coordinators, and she really was exceptional. The property is beautiful too, of course, I wouldn't have wanted to have it anywhere else!

Windwood Equestrian is the most amazing and gorgeous venue that you could imagine! I knew I wanted my wedding to be outside, but I didn’t want just a random barn or field. Windwood is like stepping into an English countryside. It is everything I wanted and more! The staff are amazing and so helpful with everything you need! There are several different spots to choose from for your ceremony and they are all stunning! There are even more areas to do photos! The reception area is breathtakingly beautiful. I can’t recommend them enough!

My sister got married at Windwood Equestrian, and as someone who has been to a lot of weddings over the years, I can honestly say this place is on another level. The property is absolutely stunning, but what really stood out was how well everything was run and how welcomed our family felt throughout the entire weekend. From the rehearsal dinner to the wedding day itself, every detail was handled with professionalism and care. The staff worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to make sure everything flowed smoothly, and they genuinely cared about making it special for our family and guests. The setting is beautiful without feeling overly commercial or cookie cutter. It has a warm, family owned feel that made the whole experience more personal and memorable. You can tell the owners have poured their heart into the property and truly care about the people celebrating there. Our family will always be grateful that my sister’s wedding was held at Windwood. It was an unforgettable weekend and a five star experience from beginning to end.

We attended a friend's wedding there. Absolutely beautiful place for wedding photos, etc. Only drawback was only one bathroom in barn/dressing area used by Bride and Grooms party. ** Guests and planners had to use nice bathrooms in building aways from the barn... unfortunately it was pouring rain. So bring extra umbrellas for yourself and guests to share running back and forth. More bathrooms needed inside for elderly and disabled guests. Also, the parking area just outside the event barn is not lighted, very dark. May want to bring a few flashlights too. Other than the inconveniences, we had a wonderful evening. *** Best hotel for guests/group is nearby, minutes away: Candlewood Suites in Alabaster. It's an extended stay, rooms are like small apts, full size fridge, cook top, coffee pot, etc. @ $99. per night with AAA discount. Very nice and quiet.
