Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach

I reserved in Ocean front room and was given a partial Ocean front room where the view was 90% parking lot! The room had moldy smell, and hallway smelled like marijuana. When I called to complain and request a change, they sent me to a different room on the opposite end of the hotel. It had a better view of the dunes, but not the ocean. The toilets did not flush well and the bathtub as well as the shower got clogged. The drainage is extremely poor in this hotel. there was hair in the shower and the doors had food stains(?), which were not cleaned from previous clients. I would not recommend staying at this hotel another time. The full bed that was promised is a sofa bed, which was extremely springy. I feel they need to train reception for client reception. . as we were informed by other staff, the first hotel room, we stayed always has issues. So they should not be putting clients into those hotel rooms when they had other rooms available. Not very well run! Very disappointed!

Zachari Dunes exceeded my expectations from the moment we arrived. As a disabled traveler who uses both a cane and wheelchair I have never found a place truly fully accommodating. From the ease of handicap parking , several ramps, plenty of signage for ada routes and options this place truly was accommodating for all. Doorways and entrances provided ample space to comfortably fit. The pool area offers lifts and amazing accommodations as well as ease to reach the beach minus sand ofcourse. If there was a need to experience the ocean that would be the only struggle however there is a beautiful grass area to enjoy the sunset and waterfront views. We were booked in a spacious Lanai room with easy access to just about everywhere. The room was gorgeous and came with 2 full bathrooms. One with a shower and one with a bath and shower combo. While my room was not ada I always makesure I am booked in a room large enough for my needs as travels dont guarantee ada rooms even if you book one. During our stay we did not experience any of the food or drinks as we ventured off property. We did enjoy time in the dive lounge however hours sre very limited especially for the summer so we left to enjoy adult time elsewhere The resort is perfect for families, solo trips, couples and your furry friends. Location was perfect and the pools were very well sized for some R&R. This resort provides 2 hour free rentals and an abundance of activities that there was no shortage of entertainment. Location was perfect as we were only a 15minute drive to the bars in Ventura and near a shopping and food space as well. My overall stay was phenomenal and I look forward to returning.

Booked 20 rooms for a company event, it was our second year in a row doing it, spent over $20,000 and the individual who drafted our contract totally botched the thing, putting the wrong presidential suite room in the contract. We were very specific in what we asked for, even clarifying that we wanted the same exact arrangement as the year prior. Told us we had to sign a contract before they could confirm the room's availability. We checked in with them prior to the event to confirm. Come check in time, they put us in different rooms than requested and the hotel was unwilling to put us in the room we requested or take any responsibility. No advanced warning or notice of the changes. Spoke to management and provided them all the email documentation showing where their team made errors or dropped the ball and they were unwilling to take responsibility for their mistakes and did not extend any discount for their mistakes. I let them know our company would no longer be booking with them. Very rude and disrespectful. Also, even though we paid for parking for our whole group, the hotel tried charging each person on our team for parking to increase their revenue. Very unprofessional. No one on their team has the ability to affect change, resolve issues or take responsibility.

I liked the room we got. We got the Standard room on the ground floor. The king sized beds are always fun. There was also 2 bathrooms with 2 showers in our room. The living room area had a pullout bed in the couch. Parking was quick and easy and the grounds were beautiful!! The hot tub was huge!! The pool was also huge and only 5' deep at most. We didn't try the restaurants because they were too expensive for us and we also wanted to try the surrounding eateries. It's right on the beach so if you're coming for the beach life this is worth it!!! Overall I'd recommend and would come back

Tyler checked us in with efficiency and the friendliest personality that set us totally at ease after a long difficult travel day from Florida to California. The hotel is perfectly situated on the beach and the interior pool and waterfalls are esthetically pleasing. We love it here and everyone that works here. Very family friendly.
