I spent nearly 6 months looking for my perfect wedding gown, scouring every bridal salon's website in the Phoenix area. After narrowing in on some shops that had dresses I liked, I visited the 3 stores in Scottsdale multiple times. While I had a lovely time at those salons and the people I worked with were amazing, still, none of the dresses were exactly right. So, I decided to take a leap of faith and explore a custom gown. Enter Modern Bride and Julie! From my first appointment, Julie completely understood what I wanted, even when I didn't exactly have the words to accurately describe it myself. I showed her photos of the dresses I tried on that I liked, but weren't exactly right. She then showed me aspects of gowns she had in the salon that matched what I was looking for. I tried on multiple gowns and ended up customizing her existing designs, taking the bodice of one and the skirt of another to make my perfect dress. I was even able to change the fabric to be exactly what I wanted, and we perfected the look with a custom veil. Finally, I felt that "Yes!!" moment that all brides dream about! I won't see my completed dress until February, but I have no doubt that it will be exactly what I imagined. I am incredibly grateful I found Julie and her shop! The experience felt entirely centered on how I felt in the dress, not on fitting into a preset design. Because Julie is the designer, almost everything was customizable. There was essentially nothing she couldn’t adjust or create. I’m genuinely getting the dress I envisioned! Her craftsmanship is stunning, the designs are intricate and beautiful, the pricing is fair, and she was able to accommodate for my 6 month timeline. Julie does such amazing work!!! I had an idea of what I wanted, but she encouraged me to go out of my comfort zone and I ended up falling in love with a style I didn’t think I would like on myself. She was so sweet and such a hype girl! I originally had my second appointment shortly after her and ended up canceling because I knew she could execute my dream dress. One of my favorite things was being able to try on different styles and then change things if I wanted to since everything is custom! I got engaged in Scottsdale and am from Wisconsin so finding a dress in AZ was very special to me. I could not be happier!

I found my dream dress at Modern Bride and Julie was so kind and helpful every step of the way! The quality of the wedding dresses are second to none. She made me feel at ease trying on the dresses and gave her insight when I had any questions/concerns. Highly recommend!

My friend and I stopped by Modern Bride this Saturday and we had the most amazing experience. We didnt have an appointment but Julie was fantastic and decided to show us some dresses between her appointments. I haven’t been in a bridal shop in few decades so I was very nervous about the whole thing. I’ve tried dress after dress and I’ve cried when they put the vail on me .
