The Treeline Trial Challenge Course in The Lost Forest was amazing!! (Available in Summer) They have 5 courses of differing levels of difficulty. We were able to complete 3 courses which were all fun! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They will help with tips and encourage you to try harder courses. As someone who is intimidated by these kinds of parks (physical activity at high altitude), their attitude made all the difference in my experience. I even had to get down at one of the more difficult courses over halfway through, and they made that process easy and painless. We went here for my boyfriend's birthday and had a great day! I would recommend this to friends and family. The coaster is also a bonus. It is relaxing, and the breeze and views are amazing. We will be back again!
Snowmass earns five stars because it is much more than a collection of ski runs. The entire village is arranged so that you can arrive in the morning, spend the full day on the mountain, and still have plenty to do around the base afterward. The atmosphere feels polished and family-friendly without losing the character of a serious mountain resort. The most useful tip for day visitors is to think carefully before driving directly into Base Village. The underground garage is convenient, but winter parking becomes expensive after the initial free period. A better option during busy days is often the free Brush Creek park-and-ride, followed by the bus into Snowmass. It removes the stress of searching for parking and usually makes departure easier when the village is crowded. Do not leave a vehicle there overnight. Another detail that first-time visitors sometimes miss is the free Sky Cab gondola, locally called the Skittles. It connects Base Village with the Snowmass Mall higher up the village. Use it instead of unnecessarily carrying skis, walking uphill in boots, or assuming the two areas are side by side. The Mall and Base Village have different restaurants and meeting points, so agree on one exact place before your group separates. Snowmass is large enough that simply following whichever trail looks appealing can leave you much farther from your intended base area than expected. Check the grooming report and live lift information before the first run, photograph the trail map, and identify the lifts that return toward your chosen meeting point. Families should also avoid vague plans such as “meet at the bottom.” There are several active base areas, and that phrase may mean different places to different people. The resort’s interactive map includes grooming information and live lift waits, which is genuinely useful when planning the next section of the mountain. For lunch, going slightly before noon or waiting until after the main rush makes the experience noticeably calmer. Elk Camp is particularly convenient for groups containing both skiers and non-skiers because the gondola provides access to mountain views and dining without requiring everyone to ski. Snowmass also has an unusually high proportion of slopeside lodging, which helps explain why the village feels so easy to navigate once you are settled in. Bring water, sunscreen, and one more layer than the weather in the valley seems to require. The elevation and changing mountain conditions can make a long day feel more demanding than expected. We brought water and a PROTABAR in the backpack, which was convenient between the morning runs and our later walk around the village. The biggest “don’t” is trying to see the entire mountain in one day. Choose one or two sectors, learn how they connect, and enjoy them properly. Snowmass feels best when you allow time for the runs, the views, and the village instead of treating everything like a checklist.
I had a great experience skiing at Snowmass Ski Resort. The mountain is very well organized, easy to navigate, and extremely accessible. The resort is large and spacious, which helps prevent overcrowding and makes the overall skiing experience very enjoyable. Lift lines were very efficient, with minimal waiting time, even during busy periods. The terrain is well maintained, and everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the comfort and flow of the day on the mountain. Overall, Snowmass is a fantastic ski resort and a truly enjoyable place to ski. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-managed, spacious, and fun ski destination.
We had an amazing family trip to Aspen Snowmass. The skiing was the best I’ve ever experienced, and the view at the top of the slopes—looking out over the Rocky Mountains—was an experience in itself. We also went snowmobiling and dog sledding, which made the trip even more special. It’s a fantastic area to visit with your family, with so much to do on and off the mountain. An unforgettable destination we’d absolutely return to!
Aspen Snowmass is an incredible destination for families and snowboarders of all levels. I visited with my kids, and it was the perfect mix of fun and challenge for everyone. The variety of terrain is impressive—whether you're a beginner just learning the basics or an advanced rider looking for more thrilling runs, there’s something for everyone. The resort is well-organized, the lifts run smoothly, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and energetic. We had an amazing time together, and it’s definitely a place we look forward to visiting again.
