3LS Films

Great place to catch a picture! The variety of films they have rotation is absolutely bonkers! This place was built for a cinephile! I was pleased to find out they serve dark matter coffee!! The staff are an absolute delight and the chairs in theater are comfortable! I will definitely be purchasing a membership and plan to bring friends! The land acknowledgement before the movie started was really weird but no biggie!

Great experience, the Black Harvest Film Festival was wrapping up and the final film was Black Girl - fabulous space, intimate and comfy theaterwith multiple screens. Great location. Pay to park, use a parking app. Do not pay full price to park at a nearby garage, use Spot Hero or Park Chirp.😉 Good popcorn 🍿🍿🍿🍿.

Another reviewer on another board said in 2018: I have severe issues with the SMELL of common general air. Consistently the same smell throughout the years and events. Oddly, this is the only public building I know of that has this smell, outside from Greyhound eeky bathroom. And I sadly confirm that creepy "Greyhound eeky bathroom" smell was exhilaratingly present on 25 April 2026. Great film showings here but wow, the stench.... A theater worker blamed the odor on the carpet but the smell was strongest on the main floor corridor leading to the elevator. There wasn't any carpet there. The terrible odor wasn't as strongly noticed for a later evening screening. Perhaps the venue's popcorn machine, which wasn't running for an afternoon screening but was for an evening one, masked the smell a bit.

Glad to have a spot where limited releases films are shown! Very clean cinema. In the midst of busy State Street. The only reason not 5 starts is they didn’t have concessions - I feel that’s half the fun of a movie… even a box of candy and pop ! maybe cause of Covid? But also I did not find the chairs comfortable. They are soft chairs BUT the back is firm straight , maybe they were so new they didn’t have much “give”. They did lean back , but you had to force it. Great sound! Crisp bold Dolby

SAIC arthouse theater featuring indie, international and old films. The theater and seats are clean. I fav is the quiet the cafe space where you can go and hang out before the movie. Being right across the street from the Chicago theater, it’s the perfect spot for people watching!
