Incredible view of the Boston Light on Lottle Brewster Island and Boston Harbor from atop the hill in Hull. Definitely worth the drive out!

Boston Light, located on Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor, is the oldest continually used lighthouse site in the United States, first lit in 1716. The current tower, rebuilt in 1783 after being destroyed during the Revolutionary War, stands 89 feet tall and remains an active aid to navigation maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. For over 300 years it’s guided ships safely into Boston Harbor, even surviving automation and modernization. Public tours once ran seasonally through the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park, but as of recent seasons, access has been suspended while the Coast Guard evaluates future operations — meaning visitors can currently view the lighthouse only by boat, from a distance, rather than landing on the island itself.

The trip was awesome and the views were spectacular! Very economical price for what you get to see. Boston harbor was gorgeous! My only suggestion is to bring a hoodie or a jacket. It gets a little chilly. I would also wear tennis shoes. The staff was excellent and polite. Put this tour on your must see list!

It was great to see the lighthouse from across the waters, but the directions told us that we had to walk, which means we would have to walk across the ocean to get to it

As Brian S. notes, this was the very first lighthouse station in the United States, established in 1716 with the current 75 foot tall conical tower dating back to 1783 (raised to 98 feet in 1856). If you look at Boston Harbor, you'll see that there was a big need for such things with all the small islands here including this one, Little Brewster Island. Tours of the lighthouse are available through the National Park Service. I got to see it today courtesy of clear weather and Delta Air Lines flight 5639.
